No!!!!! Don't merge me. Especially when both professions are slated for a revamp soon. Even while broken I like these professions. I don't think merging them will help.

I want to start by saying that i don't think it would be a good idea to merge professions.......
but if for some reason the DID merge. it seems as though the ranger CH would be the better combination over squad leader. even when i am doing scouting / recon work for a large assault force. i don't generally group with them.
Rangers should always remain the profession of crazy hermits in the woods 
I love the fact that I can go anywhere I want whenever I want, unbuffed and unarmored and not have to worry about anything...... wow, i got off topic

Here's another briliant idea. Let's merge DE with fencer. Makes as much sense as this post.

I think that idea makes as much sense as your spelling does - FREAKING NONE.
Squad leaders are PvP types first and foremost. They shout directions 24/7. Their skills are marginally effective on hunts, tho fairly effective in PvP.
Rangers have no PvP skills, we are PvE. We don't shout, we silently slip up on our targets. Our skills are effective in PvE, but suck for PvP.
I shudder, truly shudder, to see the ideas some people can come up with. Then again, some politicians (who shall go nameless - When I turned around Mary Jo and the cahh wuh gawn - get re-elected time after time.
One star, no thought, no reasoning, just threw an unsupported idea into the forums without a thought.

We aren't all PER SE against combining (well some of us are, I know I am) but we feel that squad leaders have the own niche, and that we have ours, and that they do not at all overlap. In fact, I am curious...where do you see our jobs overlapping? Also, do you see the types of players who choose these professions overlapping?

I agree with Phenix though, I'd rather wait and be patient and see Ranger become something great on its own then to see it mixed with another profession. Squad Leaders are scheduled for a revamp and I think their ideas for their profession are very different from where we want our profession to go. We are shceduled for a revamp and I think our ideas for our profession are very different from where they want theirs to go.
In the end, I think we will have two great professions and I look forward to it.

But in all seriousness, this goes make to what i said last weekend when I mastered Ranger. This game is setup to find something you enjoy and DO IT. If you don't like a prof for whatever reason, drop it and move along. Eventually you will find your niche.

I'm gonna go ahead and give a 5 star to everybody on this thread. It seems some people don't like to be disagreed with , so they did the wonderful job of one-starring people. While I'm all for a one-star if someone is yelling expletives or putting posts in all caps, I severly disagree with the one-star as a way to show that you don't like people with opinions contrary to yours.
I'm also going to 5-star the original poster. While I disagree with your logic, the point I was trying to make was that I think the professions should be fixed on their own-- it doesn't mean your heart isn't in the right place, it just means I disagree with you. I'm giving you 5 stars for putting for the effort to try and fix a problem. I hope that if you are the one-star bandit, you learn that disagreeing with someone doesn't mean you can't respect where they're coming from.

I finally found a profession worth doing and that is Ranger. I've been a ranger on Ahazi for months now and wear my tag proudly. Although I'm a bit sick of hunting black boars on Tat, I do love searching out the elusive dragons. There's a sense of satisfaction when you finally find your target. I've done a few professions including M. Dancer/M. Musician/M. Entertainer.TKM and Ranger are the two I have stuck w/ the longest. Besides I love being one of the few chick Rangers (and Twi at that right Ditah) on Ahazi. I've seen a lot of novice scouts lately, but we are still a rare breed....i'd hate to be merged w/ another profession.
