AgonThellia,

Rangers get...nothing so far for REAL missions, but really neither do any of the other professions. I appreciate your positive feedback.

I would love to see this as part of the GCW, have Rangers or any / all the professions have profession-specific missions. Like possibly we as Rangers would have to Scout a mission for a Squad of Rebel Commando/ Imperial STNPC's. Lead them in to Track / Conceal, etc...once the hidden Imperial / Rebelbase is found, the Commandos do their thing, and we as Rangers can assist (after all we wouldn't be doing much more in combat than that) them completing their mission. Upon completion, the experience would happen based on how well we got them there using our tracking and conceal skills, and the Commando(es) would thank you for doing a big service to advancing the goals of the GCW for the Alliance / Empire. Even neutral missions could be done for some of the Neutral factions that are warring upon each other.

That's just one more thing we could do in regular day gaming that would help us. BUt have similar missions for each profession. I can see a Chef having to cater a VIP party for a Planetary Governor. Based upon what they prepare etc., determines how much exp they get. Just as another example for another profession.

I think it would be sweet if the lasers on the high tech field base would instant kill a creature if it walked through, no exp awarded of course.

Owen-Lars: Id like to have a fully fleshed out pure 'creature' hunter profession making us the best hunters in the game, with features aiding us in this area, rather than begging for changes that wont happen and letting the devs make the profession soley how they want with little input from us.

I loath this kind of negativity, saying that changes won't happen. Stop your self-pity and work on helping instead. But regardless of the wording, I do agree with your points. I would much rather have all of the upcoming priorities center around creature hunting, and once that is balanced and working properly, focus on other issues such as humanoid combat and PvP.

DFH: Baby creature traps: should not release the creature back into the game. The captured critter should work like a Bio-Engineered one: you get a Tame option on the radial menu if you are able to tame it.

I disagree, but not for the reasons that Owen-Lars presents (I think he misunderstood). If you make the creature a deed instead of something on the datapad, then you can simply hold onto it as long as you like, until you find someone who's able to tame it. If you make it re-spawn from the datapad, then if your CH friend isn't able to tame it, you have to trap it again. I think this is a good limitation.

DFH: Still too much emphasis on creature hunting and pie-in-the-sky stuff we just don't need. (Ghille suits? Hunting cabins?)

I think that there will never be "too much" emphasis on creature hunting for Rangers. But I see absolutely no need or use for a hunting cabin, and I'd rather not have to take off all my clothes that have clothing attachments on them, just to wear a ghille suit. If it could be worn OVER my existing clothes/armor then I wouldn't consider it an issue at all. Do we need it? I think it's a low priority.

Dyraak_Sinh: NRaas, I'm sure you're almost getting tired of my posts about how rangers should be mounted badasses
commando010: How about mounted pikeman, I'm thinking of jousting with this.

(This has been suggested on the Pikeman forum for a while) I'm not getting tired of it, but I disagree on the basis that it's a worthless advantage. There's no reason to be in combat while on a mount. Allowing us to be able to do specials while mounted will just mean there's no reason to do specials while on a mount. It might be "cool" to see it happen, but every single suggestion on this list is more useful. (Even hunting cabins)

StinkinJawa: Not to criticise such well thought out and developped post

If no one criticizes it, it will suck. Or at the very least, we won't get what we want without feedback.

Tak0-Paleae: i just completed jabas palace and noticed these wall mounts

Yeah, those rock, I can't wait to be able to make em. And stuffed Nunas!

ZackStarwind: I know this was a bit "roleplayish" but hey isn't that why we play Star Wars Galaxies? To set ourselves into this great epic struggle between good and evil?

Deliciously roleplayish! And very forward-thinking, though I'm not sure how useful it would be, or if it would work.

"Is it possible to use "/rescue [playername]"?"

It is possible, I have tried it.

Either way you could set up the following macro: /target [playername]; /rescue to perform the same action.

"Ability to set a camp as private so non-group members would be unable to receive any benefits from the camp, as if the camp were not there."

Cool.

Man, very impressed with the readings here. Good job NRaas, keep it up. I was happy to see I wasn't the only one with those problems...I though my computer wasbeing bitchy with the server or something. Lag, I don't know. But seeing that ALL those are in game problems, it does make me ponder the thought that the Devs should probably dive a little more into the game functions and alternative routes to such a great profession. I love being a Ranger...but it;s so hard to do with all these mess ups. Oh well. Good luck Devs.

Aye. When I read the suggestion of skis on the forum,I was actually travelling over those very mountains.

I thought the request was kind of fun, and added it in.

Yeah, it does sound fun. But it also sounds amazingly unimportant. I mean, if after a few months you've still never seen the snow, why should the devs bother spending time making skis?

On the other hand, if Hoth is on the way, DUDE, gimme skis!!!!

That bonus to hit is one of the most important things for the combat side of things.. hell its' the only one we have. I didn't even know untill recently, that it didn't apply to specials.... who uses autofire anyway?! It's ridiculous!!

TKA do .

Man that's a long list NRaas. I know you had tried to trim the fat, but I truely think it needs to be shortened. But, what do you get rid of??? Oh well, lets hope one ofr the powers decides it isn't too long and takes a good look at.

Also, I REALLY like the idea of the bloodhound. Might it be implemented as part of the /track command? Maybe the bloodhound (I personally want a blood-durni) could run off somewhere and force a spawn, as well as aid in /areatrack as mentioned? Something like that would be neat, I suppose.

I love these ideas! It would be fantastic to have these implemented... Good job with the list NRaas!

But also, what ever happened to the idea for the Ranger specific weapon? Like a dartgun or crossbow? Or has that concept been altered into the custom powerup idea? (sorry if I missed the reason if it was posted elsewhere)
