Thread: When are we going to get a Dev response?
Lorell wrote:
That's good to hear, but let's get our case before the devs and let them know of any support we may have gathered in something like the In Development forum where they will actually see it.
I'd recommend letting the posts sit a bit first. Then Calc can send a friendly message to the Devs through the correspondent forum to have a look. Let the support build a bit before pointing the Devs to it.

Thats not funny I'm a Master Pikman, Master Ranger. Well I guess since those are my classes I should have a sence of humor.

Well considering DE and ID are higher priority, I'd guess right after the Pikeman revamp.

It is still more than we have gotten

I just read their thread, if they take "that" as good news I feel sorry for them. What did Mr Red Name actually say, bugger all really. Thats called a fob-off-and-stop-bothering-me speach if I ever heard one. Poor sods...... they should become Rangers..... :-)

Oh my god, Even SQUAD LEADERS are getting more dev attention:

. As long as there is hope, there won't be flames.
Nu-uh. It's that line of thinking that keeps rangers useless as it is. It's time we actually said something. Ranger isn't that hard of a thing to fix, yet we're probably at the bottom of the f*cking revamp list.
"We are building our case. I had been told it wasn't strong enough, so we are drumming up support. SinceI have been a correspondent, I have learned that it is hard to get convince the devs that they should work on you. Everytime I have asked about anything, Thunderheart came back with "You need a clear and concise arguement as to why and how we should do that." I think that the squeaky wheel gets the grease applies here, but only to a point. I have beentold to knock it offfor being too squeaky. Things will happen when they happen, and the best way to speed up the process is to follow the rules."
TH and the Dev's saying our case isn't strong enough is a slap in the face to the Ranger community. Obviously the developers themselves felt that we needed more attention else they would not have promised us what was promised back in August. TH was brought on to represent the players TO the developers. He is now nothing more than a spindoctor for them. There is no difference now for players than before he came on other than we now have another hurdle we have to jump over.
I have seen countless posts and threads with this "clear and concise argument" response and frankly it's old. Several professions (DE, Smuggler, SL) have been posting these for an eternity. The fact of the matter is, is that TH will not look at what already has been posted because he's told to put us off with busy work, i.e. posting more "clear and concise arguments". A Squad Leader correspondent resigned over it, other correspondents are equally frustrated but continue to play the game.
I say to the Ranger community....the State of the Profession thread, the Outdoorsman thread, the numerous Top 5's or Top 6's are all "clear and concise arguments". We shouldn't need to keep repeating this. I don't think it's asking too much of them to have them do what they said they would do.
Respectfully,
Gang,
Calc and I HAVE gotten Dev responses on our issues - but unfortunately they're not what anyone wants to hear. We're in a holding pattern. The next two publishes are being focused upon like a laser beam and they're getting all the attention now. Squad Leaders and Smugglers are getting their revamps (and we all know that they need them more than we do) and that's where the bulk of the resources are now.
Gang, having a red name come in here and say "we're working on it - we'll let you know when its ready to go" isn't going to make the waiting any easier. All it really will do is piss people off more - so they're probably not going to do it.
You know me and you know Calc and you know that we're not just sitting around with our thumbs up our butts. In fact, Calc has been so active that I've had to email him a few times and tell him to lay off because he was going after TH on almost every thread. ![]()
You know thatas soon as we get some good information or an update on anything that affects us, Calc will be here posting and I'll be on the Scout boards doing the same thing.
Waiting sucks - especially for 7 months. I know.

Lorell,
I understand what you are saying. But what I'm trying to convey to you is that Calc and I are your direct conduit to the Developers. When we come to you guys and explain what is going on, that's akin to a response from the Devs.
The Devs recognize that they don't have enough time to come and talk to every profession about everything that's going on. That's what we're for. We talk to you, we talk to them, we pass through information both ways- we take what you tell us and give it to them, and we take what they tell us and give it to you.
What we can tell you is that yes, they've seen our proposals, and yes, they like them, but right now their priorities are on different areas. I know for a fact that they've seen the camping proposal, because I gave it directly to TH via email, and he's confirmed that he passed it along to the Devs for us. But we can't tell you that they've dedicated any resources to us or that we're going to be "slipped in" to any publishes right now. Because we haven't. Gary Gattis' letter to the community was clear with what the Devs primary priorities are.
The stuff that we've got in the Holocron post is still on the table - Calc got that confirmed a few days ago. But there's just no timeline.
I'm sorry if you guys don't think that a blue name response is as good as a red name response. But the Devs feel that it is, and that's why the use us. You haven't been waiting for months without a peep - we've been peeping to you guys with whatthey've said all the time. That's the entire point of the program.
I just want to reassure you that Calc here is one of the most active new correspondents we've ever had in the program, and you can be darn sure that the second TH gives us any good news it'll be up here for your information.

They got their revamp because they made themselves heard.
Laying off of TH... do you really think that was a good move?

I do not. <ducks thrown objects from Delta and Calc> ![]()
