Thread: When are we going to get a Dev response?

Not 'even' squad leaders. They're broken too, I know, I'm part way up the tree, then realised everything except the defnse bonus is useless. I was going to drop it until I heard it was getting revamped.

I'm not against other professions getting revamps, but I acknowledge we need to be up there too, ours is long overdue.

TH has started the question process since they now plan on revamping smuggler/squadleader next. We will get love eventually.

I'm just curious how, in real-world terms, they can expect people to wait 8 months for their chosen profession to work and still expect them to pay for it. Not even a direct complaint, just curious how that's a good business model.

That's what I mean. Everyone else is either getting revamped, looked at, communicated with, or tweaked in some fashion, while the Rangers patiently wait in their leaky tents. We need to stand up for ourselves and get at least the courtesy of a reply.

Ranger is not a profession. It's a lifestyle.

I just read their thread, if they take "that" as good news I feel sorry for them. What did Mr Red Name actually say, bugger all really. Thats called a fob-off-and-stop-bothering-me speach if I ever heard one. Poor sods...... they should become Rangers..... :-)

I agree. We are the most apathetic profession there is. There is a fine line between being patient and rolling over. We just keep on taking it and the devs know we will so we are at the bottom of the list for fixes. We need to speak up because that is the only way we will be looked at. I'm not saying be rude, or demand the other professions get nerfed, but to be treated with respect and be acknowledged. Calc, saying that where there is hope there isn't flames, sounds really nice but it's the same attitude that has gotten us nowhere for 8 months. Check out the devtracker and see how the other professions get dev attention - they keep asking for it and they are united. If we all really want changes made, we need to do the same, and it all starts with our correspondent.

Have a look at the "The Million Monkeys Are Out There Waiting for YOU!!!" thread.

I think it's great that we are promoting ourselves to the other professions, but the bottom line is that they can not help us. We should be directing all that at the devs. I think we should continue to coordinate where we can with others to further our cause, but we need to realign our focus on where it belongs - the devs.

The Devs can easily blow off one correspondent. It's much harder to blow off a whole community. Calc has been fighting for us. But he doesn't really have the backing he needs. We are one of the smallest professions. The Devs know that. Saying 10 other professions think we need help is a bit more convincing.

I agree that we need all the help we can get, but honestly, do you really think that other professions are going to ask the devs to put us before them? I don't.

We are not asking for a revamp here. We are asking for a small change that will end up helping them. So far, most of the posts are very supportive.

That's good to hear, but let's get our case before the devs and let them know of any support we may have gathered in something like the In Development forum where they will actually see it.

We are building our case. I had been told it wasn't strong enough, so we are drumming up support. SinceI have been a correspondent, I have learned that it is hard to get convince the devs that they should work on you. Everytime I have asked about anything, Thunderheart came back with "You need a clear and concise arguement as to why and how we should do that." I think that the squeaky wheel gets the grease applies here, but only to a point. I have beentold to knock it offfor being too squeaky. Things will happen when they happen, and the best way to speed up the process is to follow the rules.
