I'm with Seiryuu. Some sort of nomination (PM or open?), but final pick left to you.

5 people? include calc, 6. 2 melee, 2 range, 1 (or 2) CH (since a big number of rangers incorporate MCH's or dabblers in CH), and if room 1 other, perhaps a CM with rangering tree filler.
But for the 5 (or 6) combat prof's, Master Ranger a must. It does no good to have 3 or 4 of those people testing combat on Sandboxto "half ***" rangers and lean towards more combat, right?
Note: I am not saying those who are not Master Rangers now should not be involved, but anyone who is ranger in anyway, "its a lifestyle" right? But in the Sandbox they should be Master Rangers. (imho)
While I am definitely interested in participating, my nomination list for whom I would think most useful does not include me
. Just let us know when you are looking for PMs on volunteering or nominating please, or public ones....thanks Calc.

It seems this statement was either missed or misread

There seems to be enough interest in a nominating thread, but I think i will ust ask for PM's (so people that want some anonymity can have it. So, if you are interested in helping test the CB, please reread the NJ62 portion of my original post on this thread. If you are still interested, please send me a PM with your interest and any notes you feel pertinent. NOTE: I will still have the final say in picking the testers.

Every correspondent will be there with 5 members of his/her community. I don't intend to get my rifle/ch issues to calc but to the relevent correspondents. Calc is here for the ranger part.

Very true, rangers should be picked because they are rangers, not because of what class they are aswel as ranger. Obviously though it would be better to have some experienced ranged/melee rangers to test both set ups out in greater detail.
However i think the majority of rangers (myself included) has tried both melee and ranged so are queit aware of the pros and cons of each.

I think this is a great opportunity for the Rangers as a profession to really get together, and hammer down some new things for us. I think Calculus has the right ideas going, and as someone else said, I agree that we should test Rangers because the other correspondents will have their teams set up as well. Also I think we should mix it up a bit betwen melee, and ranged, maybe 2 melee, and 3 ranged...../shrug.

Again I don't think it matters so much Tribus. No doubt some days of testing some will go melee and some ranged, and other days all will go melee and other days all will go ranged. Whatever is required and up for testing at that particular moment.

I think you should accept PM's and pick your 5. I would like to see a blend of combat rangers and hunting rangers. I don't see faction as being relavent in the SandBox.
I do wonder what aRangers skillsinthere current form have to do with combat balancing. While Ranger IS a combat profession, or combat support profession if you prefer, Ranger in and of itself has little bearing on a players overall combat ability. The one exception is Ranger Rifleman combo. A Master Rifleman with only the rifleman cover mods can go /prone and get off 5 or more shots off on a target before the target spots you. Adding the cover mods from ranger increases the number of shots you can get off before being noticed. Otherwise I see no direct correlation between aRangers skillsand combat, other than the Rangers primary combat profession.
Creature Knowledge/ To-Hit bonus is so minor it has no real impact in combat. TN and burst run effiecency is our only skill that has any barely noticable impact on combat, and that is for the most part limited to PvP against melee stackers with no TN. Melee Ranger in PvP is suicide. And if the sandbox is meant to work towardbalancing the professions, why the heck are the mythical "ultimate creature hunters" doing balancing combat against other players.
I am a TKM / Master Ranger, and that just about equates to a mobile harvester, with maintenance/power payable in buffs, food, and ubese.
I'm sure I am part of the minority, but I would like to have that minority represented in the "SandBox." I've played every profession with the exception of BH. I've come back to Ranger because it is where I started, it is a lifestyle, and this profession still has overwhelming potential to be the most well rounded profession in the game, on both sides of the PvE vs. PvP fence. I would just like to see that represented.
Is there any, logic to balancing professions that are scheduled to be revamped? I mean, we do this sandbox thing, strike a balance between the combat professions, just to turn around and revamp some of them and disturb the balance that has been created?

A ranger's skill set does not inpact combat much no. However combat effects us to a great degree because we need to be in combat to hunt.
The main purpose will be to make sure ranger can still hunt, and still go out solo when needs be. Ensure camps become more usefull in terms of rest time etc and overall just make sure we cut a good deal for ourselves.

Also, we don't know what we are going to get as part of the CB. Calc will be going to the summit with a huge list of things we would like to see added to make us tougher/harder hitting. If any of those suggestions are implemented the testers will be testing those as well. (I'd hate to see us given a useful-ish skill and then not have it work for, say, the melee classes.

I think this has been brought up already, but as a master ranger, I would like to see my "blip" disappear from radar.
