Whichever you choose . It is just a fun thread about forum names that mutated into an in-game name thread.

hehe - this is a great thread. I decided that I would make a female char for a change and I wanted to give her a name that was heroic and at the same time tragic, but not immediately recognizable as such (so, "guenivere,""wonder woman," and "monica lewinsky"were out), so my first thought was Isolde, but that was taken, so I settled on the old-French variant Iseult, which I actually like better now.

Yes - I know it's a medieval name, and yes, I know that there is apparently a DAOC server named Iseult (I didn't know this, though, until after I started playing and people kept asking me if I played DAOC), but somehowthename seems fitting for a red-headed char with freckles and a princess-leia haircut (still the onlyprincess-leia haircuton bloodfin :> who spends most of her time wandering from place to place in search of some unattainable goal (ie., the uber carrion-spat spawn).

Well, my forum name reflects my life situation at the time I registered with SOE

My main character name is permutation on my real name (to a degree).

And I'm proud of my char name on TC: Vvill Hun'tyaReminds of Borsk Fey'lya (also Bothan) and the use of 'double v' instead of 'w' is typical inSW too (remember Sovv?) Gonna become Ranger too eventually.

Actually if you know anything about paleography (study of old manuscripts), w's are actually a relatively recent development --the letter developed to take the place of two v's (or two u's -- in a lot of older languages'u' and 'v'were interchangeable, 'v' being a version of 'u' that was easier to carve into wood and stone (think Latin). Hence the name of the letter 'w'....

Well Calc I take you to be a math major or minor. I had to take a math minor(engineering major) and it was definately Entropy.

I'm sure my forum name is pretty simple to figure out.

Scoer Fusou came from a Star Wars name formula, a Jedi one i think, that uses your name, your moms madien name and your home town or something like that. I've had it since I was in HS so i cant really remember.

Shubacca I also got in HS but not from a name generator. Its actually a nick name the guys on the golf team gave me cuz i had a beard and i liked Star Wars and my last name starts with Sch. They started calling me Shubacca or Shuey, it actually should be spelled Schubacca I guess but I like the way Shubacca looks better.

I used to be an RPer on a game I used to play (Graal) so I had lots of character names to choose from. I went with Cerstian Rowen, a hybrid of my all-around bad arse (Cerstian Draven) and my marauder/pirate (Kahl Rowen). I've never used any name generators for anything. I usually just hit random keys (lkadflke) then take out letters till it makes a name (Kafle). If the name's already taken or too common, I just 'reroll'. As for brandedglacier, that was an alternative choice given to me by yahoo mail when I was7 or so. I don't remember what I initially put in, but that sounded like a cool name at the time. And it's a name I know no one will ever have taken, unless they're trying annoy me of course.

That is the most common mistake. A few of the people here have figured it out, and I will them decide if they want to tell, or not.

Forum Name.... well wanted to try something funny. It came to mind, as was not used. I also used it on the KTOR Forums.

In game name, Rohan Verillian, First name inspired my LoTR, last name just rolled off my lips (after a few different tries). It also sounded like a cool last name for a Trandoshane.

Ok the exact formula I used at the behest of my daughter was:

First three letters of last name, combined with first two of first name. Last name is First three of last name and first two of city you were born in.
