I don't remember any expectations i had... odd. I never played an expansive mmorpg before. didn't know what to expect. I remember wanted to work for Darth Vader, knowing that the empire rules the galaxy. and thought other imps would be really hard on the bothan. I event bought the strategy guide! I started i think a few months after launch, september or so. I din't find my personal light until about 7 months in. Real bad when your living on Talus. it's almost always night there. mkes me like Tat more.

I remember when we didn't have POI's and you had to get wayoints from your friends or people that have been around way longer than you to get to places like blueleaf and Jabba's.

asking any random stranger to group so you can get help taking out the butterfly lair.

Oh, I was on Naboo the first 3 months i played. I kept hearing of this large city named Coronet that had lots of players and was the hub of the galaxy. I did delievery missions for months to save up to make the trip. I spent all my savings to buy a round trip ticket. I remember when I first arrived in Coronet I felt like a hillbilly seeing New York city for the first time ROFL!!!!!!!!!!! there were tons of different people and tall buildings everywhere with dark allys. I went back to Naboo the next day and felt like I went on a vacation

On my first day I wandered outside of Mos Eisley, saw a Rill, and marked it with a waypoint so I could find the mighty creature again later when I was better equipped to hunt it.

SWG was my first MMO. (thats your first warning sign)

I started the game on Corellia, Kor vella, and immediatly started to search the mountains. Why? Mandalorian armor. In the comics, a DeathWatch ship crashed into the mountains of Corellia, near a town. Kor vella was a town... Seemed logical enough.

I didnt find my armor.

I wandered corellia for a few days, and found a starport. I bought my ticket, and stood next to the droid. My ship landed, and a bunch of people beside me dissapeared. 'They musta lagged out,' I thought. So, I walked to the shuttle ramp.. and right through it. !? 20 minutes latered, I accidently clicked on the droid.

My shuttle took me to Rori, to the Restuss Starport. I found a mission terminal and thought I could get some cash there. I wasnt really strong yet, so i did a 'delivery' mission. "Hrmm, I gotta give an item to a guy in Narmle... How far away can that be?"

I pulled up my map
"WOAH!"

Well, I started walking. I mean, its not like I could take some 'shuttle' to the other town, that'd just be silly.

So I walked. I walked like Gump. I walked 8kilometers without terrain negotation, or combat skill. And partly AFK. *numlock*

I'd watch TV, hear a noise of combat, and run to my computer spamming F5 F5 F5.

Finally, I got to Narmle. I got my reward, and grabbed another mission back to Restuss.

I went to tatooine, where I would live out the rest of my days in Beta. I did some PvPing, and didnt do half bad. Which is amazing.

Why is it amazing?

Because I didnt know how to use specials.

Up untill about 3 weeks before the beta ended, I was spamming F8 (/attack) at my target, and wondering why I wasnt shooting faster.

Woe is me.

this has to be one of the best trips down memory lane amazing how we all struggled in silence

have to say I was one of those that avoided the water and when i did eventually brave the horrors of the deep taking offmy precious hide jerkin n waist wrap and putting my cdef rifle in my backpack incase it got rusty

also boarding a shuttle walking upto it from the front side back even tried burst running at it when it landed again

trying to buy emptyresource container's on the bazaar as i thought I needed to have them to put the stuff i was going to harvest into

not to mention the hours i spent trying to figure out how to put my cdef rifle into new nice new cabinet I had saved up for

building camps in the deepest ravinewe could find so nocturnal predators wouldn't see the light from the camp's tourches

I remember right before I picked up the game I thought it would be bad a$$ to be a bartender in the eisley cantina. Little did I know that hanging out in a cantina would drive me crazy after about 10 minutes. I thought I'd be making and selling drinks on the fly. Glad I read a bit before investing time into chef. Ended up going BH instead thinking I'd be able to hunt players eventually. Nope that didn't happen. Maybe I should be a smuggler and transport good for people and sell drugs. This prof was fun but not what i expected. Damn, i had alot of fun chasing marks in the wild as a BH, maybe I should try Ranger. Ahh now that's the ticket. I'm still here over a year later.

These are great stories so far. My own story was not very exciting. Rather, I started out in Tyrena as an entertainer. This was back in September 2003. After seeing the Nalargon and microphone outside the Tyrena Starport, I naturally assumed thats where I was supposed to perform. Soooo, I stood out there for 3 days, trying to get the rare person who was running by to stop and listen. Finally, after around 4 excruciating days of this, a kind soul finally stopped and told me to go to the Coronet cantina. After consulting the map, I set out on foot...

Hehe, I assumed that you didn't have any racial differentiations. My first character was a Wookie artisan, and after I deleted it I went to Bloodfin and made a Brawler Twi-Lek lol.

Oh, and BTW, my Twi-Lek is a Novice Ranger and for the moment at 0121 Teras Kasi

I always assumed that if i didn't make my corpse run in enough time, that some NPC would come by and steal all my belongings and money and leave me screwed. boy did i freak out the first time i went to dathomir and had my corpse sitting next to what was my first encounter with a nightsister elder. i thought mytactical skinsuit, bone armor boots, dl44 and 900 creditswould be her's forever. after 4 or 5 attempts, i finally got my stuff back after about 4 runs back with 9 guildies, lol.

Mine is the best so far. I started out on coronet and went to beat up some butterflies and couldnt figure out how to get all the different experiance. I got a mission from some random villager and went to the mission walking which took forever. It turned out it was a bagerset lair and there was no bagersets outside so i attacked the lair and popped out and killed me. Later i went to tattooine and went way out into the desert and saw some red npc running towards me and thought it was a real player. (It was one of those squid things, like lopak slusk from knights of the old republic II) And i said hello while he beat me up. I said you can kill me if you want but can i please have some credits or some items please. He didnt talk to me so i asked him again. He just incapped me and walked away. So i got up and looked around for him and couldnt find him and thought he was extremely rude for not talking to me and incapping me. So i killed some more butterflies and got lost in the empty streets of coronet for like a week. Until i met a nice guy that helped me out but that was like a week.
