i remember my first day, i started in Mos Eisley. At the time i just assumed that any players could attack you and loot yer corpse. so i was scared to talk to anyone cause i thought if they found out I was a noob they would mug me.

Hahaha, I'm glad I'm not the only one to have suffered the pains of these experiences. I too was afraid of the water because of a fear of monsters. I also thought my speeder would sink. I thought everyone could see my light so I hunted in the dark so as not to give away my position.
I thought other players could steal my loot so I avoided PvP like the plague. And I couldn't figure out why I kept getting my butt kicked by little furry rabbits with sharp pointy teeef!

I was very nervous about leaving my starting planet. At one point I flew from Restuss to Narmle and was scared I'd never get back. I spent my first 2 months in galaxies on Rori.
When I finally left, I thought I needed to carry every penny I owned (the fortune that was 1000 credits) or I'd be stuck off planet with no money to get home.
No I fly from planet to planet in my A-Wing ... and my bank balance is around 6million.

Wow, not too many old timers on this thread. People talking about having swoops, being in player cities, and such. Man you guys just don't know the half of it..you know..walking to school 10 miles each way bare foot in snow :grin
I started at launch so I have a slightly different set of experiences but here are a few of the more funny ones:
Back then NO ONE had any money and there was no such thing as vets who might tip you some credits. I remember that I would take delivery missions from moneia to theed and to save the "EXORBANT" cost of a shuttle I would run the whole distance. (A real feat back then, and VERY VERY scary. On dialup, and with sooo many people in moneia that as soon as you hit the city limits the ping would go up by 2000. (now the only people in moneia are the 1 or 2 people farming thugs afk).
I remember gasping in wonder that anyone could run enough missions to pay the upkeep on a small house..let alone a large house or guild hall.
Just the opposite of the post above, I though that I HAD to keep all my money in the bank or risk loosing it when I died.
I remember the wonder at the VAST expanse of territory on each planet. I would explore the DANGEROUS territory west of moneia....all the way out to the Gungan temple.
One of the funniest things I ever saw though was about 4k west of moneia some toon by the name of FunkyMonkey (or similar) had died....That body remained there for well over 6 months and I'm not sure if it still isn't there.
oops gotta go back to work...

Hehe. I remember someone telling me what it cost to take a shuttle to endor and being amazed because it was more money than I had ever had in game. Not to mention it was so far away! Who would want to travel all that way anyways? I didn't leave Talus until August.
One silly assumption I made was that if you started a profession you should master it. As soon as I got a box of pistols, I would switch to carbines etc. It wasn't until about a month in I realized there were prereqs and not everything required master. Which was good because I had Novice Pistoleer, Novice Carbineer, Novice Rifleman and frankly I was tired leveling weapons! I laugh when I look at Paks badges - Master Scout, Master Ranger, Master Creature Handler, Master Rifleman... and Master Marksman.
Another silly assumption - I thought I would be able to run faster as a wookiee because I had longer legs, and would be a better swordman/fencer because I had longer reach. /blush

(I I remember thinking that if I got Master Marksman, I'd be big and strong just like my guildmates.

I remember swimming around in some pond somewhere, and being afraid to stop because I might drown.
I also remember spending ten minutes in Moenia, swimming while waiting for the shuttle, and finally asking my guild why I wasn't getting any swimming experience.

The first time I died I was on Endor cruising around on my swoop to the POIs like a tourist with a buddy of mine. No maskscent or any other real skills. This was probably my first or second week in the game. It was back when it got pitch black at night there before they lightened it up. I was driving down a hill and something knocked me off my swoop and killed me instantly. I never found out what it was and kept away from Endor after that for a long time.

I started out in Mos Eisely, and i decided that i would go try to find Jabba's palace.
Not wanting to spend most of my money for a shuttle to anchorhead, i walked from Eisely to Wayfar. Along the way, i had some adventures.
I had about 1000 credits to my name, and i set out with a few pistols, some traps and a crafting kit.
Thats where i first met the desert demons. I would see them, and think that if i switched to my "desert clothes" i wouldnt be seen. Naturally, they all conned red to me, and i was scared out of my mind. I crawled around them, running into dune lizards, mutant womp rats and kreetles, hundreds of kreetles.
Every once in a while, i would pop a tent, and rest up, healing my wounds and just hoping that i would get there soon.
The demons chased me across the plains, through the jundland wastes, and while i managed to pop off a few of them, they all terrified me.
After a few hours, i finally made it to jabba's palace. I decided that this time i would take a shuttle back to civilization, only to realize that Wayfar has no shuttle port!!!
I walked back to Anchorhead, braving the horrors ahead. My battle fatigue hit 120! and i thought that if i hit 150, my char would literally pass out or die.
I walked and walked and finally made it. Boy was i glad to see the friendly dancers in the cantina after that adventure.

My second adventure was the first time i went to Lok. I had 2000 credits, and knowing that i would not have enough money to make it home, i went anyway.
I was a marksman 3332 and scout 3243 at the time, i thought i was hot! Then the droidekas spawned, killed me, and my corpse was on the ground. I cloned and ran back to get my stuff, died again... this happened so often that i considered deleting draknev and making another character, since he was officially stuck on Lok.
After 3 hours of trying, i finally got my stuff back and made it back the river of urine to nyms.
did a few delivery missions, and went back to Naboo, vowing never to go back to Lok again.

I didn't go to Endor for 6 months after doing the exact same thing!
