I'm working on the sketch. I shoiuld have some stuff done friday night. I would prefer to send the drawings(either physically or in digital form) To Owenor Calc, or both. I'm not too 'net savvy so I'd rather the artwork be sent to someone who is. Once it's done being drawn, I'll leave it up to you what do do with it. I'm usually good with isometric drawing, but the organic stuff gives me some trouble. Trees and rocks and stuff won't be perfect. I'm mainly trying to come up with a skeleton based on owen's post, and I'll leave it up to someone else(more skilled with concept art than me)down the road to flesh it out. Thanks for including me in this, the Ranger community is the best.

Taking that into account and with Player Cities added to it, it will take much more hunting area away from what we currently have.

The new zones would take nothing away from what we already have because they have nothing to do with the existing zones (planets).

They are comepletely different and you 'shuttle' to them. They are like very small planets with restrictions in place to force the players on a route (ie non climbable mountains, long and thin maps etc)

Infact this idea would ADD to the hunting zones we currently have, with NO buildings or cities to look at.

The idea is that the ranger can take groups and out as a guide and hunt with them.

Im not sure on the vehicle idea for existing planets though like dath ect. On one hand it could force people into groups and our terrain negotiation would be more valuable however its is more likely it will just increase the time and boredom level of players traveling from place to place.

Ill get working on the new stuff for the pleasure zones and more details on the adventure zones now.

It may make people more bored on the adventure planets, but if people don't want to hunt there - then they have the other planets they can hunt on. The one issue, that I should comment on, though, is this is insignificant as long as the HAM rebalance isn't done yet. I would love to see the HAM of everyone nerfed, armor nerfed, and no bikes on adventure planets. I would love to see groups come back again, where the group needed a few types of characters to win.

That would definetly force a few issues. But it would go directly against ROTJ, with the speederbikes on Endor.

Yeah thats what got me thinking. I supose there were only a few bikes there in the films however i think every player would want to take a bike to endor sometime. I know its my favourite planet to slide field of view to max and go racing with friends.

Could be only a few planets have atmospheres that dont suport bikes. Dath, Yavin?

I think adding some no-fly zones would help the adventureness of some planets. But only for certain areas.

Well like the idea but we know that the devs would not spend time just to make areas for one group as the other groups would cry u know. But i see a fix that they could do for rangers that would not be 2 hard to do. First make a few new animals that are rare like kimo's kryats so on. Put them in rare spots on planets. The catch is that tie it in to area track. Get an option to check for the rare animals when we get in to the area. Then get a small type quest if u will. U check the area get a message that there is tracks or killings of the animal in the area it moved north. Move north we look again and get a new message that the tracks have moved east and so on. Or u will get a meassage that the tracks seem to have stoped here. The thing is that we the rangers have to spawn the animals it is a random spawn but if u are a bh commando so on just running around u cant just happen to run in to it unless there was a ranger that spawned it in the same area s they are running. Give the animal rare loot make it hard to find as in we cant find it every time but dont want to spend says looking for it u know what i mean?

My thoughts on a working gcw/rank and fun factor in this game.......

Would be cool if rangers and squadies could give massive bonuses to a group. For example rangers are required to enter a cetain area of the map i.e. hunting zone, and im all for the sl revamp ideas they've been throwing around there.

Maybe add imperial 'guards' by every outpost's exits, and auto-dismount players saying it's too dangerous or something. That way bikes can still technically be used, but make it some imperial order or something.

Long, long, ago before on-line games had graphics, I played a Ranger in a text-based MUD. It was a fantasy based game, but it had a HUGE tree fort that only rangers could enter. The entry chamber had an area to drop off unwanted equipment for new rangers to take for free. There were a variety of areas to practice and learn skills (tree-climbing, tracking squirrels, and arrow-making.)

Games have come a long way since then, but it is still one of my all-time favorite gaming memories. Having an area only we could get into made being a Ranger a very cool thing.

As far as these zones go, it could be similar to the Corellian Corvette. The main differences would be the access method (requiring a specific profession to get in) and the content inside the area. Although I seem to remember a Dev saying that it would be some time before they added more instanced dungeons (as the server load was difficult to handle).
