so...waht ur saying is...
if (avian meat=>OQ*PE*DR) then use the formula (OQ*2)867/(56*DR^4)+(OQ+DR)-(PE)*(DR*PE)!=the cpu u should charge....right?
You forgot to carry the 1...

I think overall the prices are low. I am not a market ranger in that I dont really hunt for money. I have a weaponsmith on another server andI get enough buying/selling from that character that I didnt want it for my ranger which is who I play to have some fun exploring the planets with.
So typically what I gather for resources are either a) stuff I know my PA mates need or b) whatever is most convient considering what I am hunting at the time. As a result I get a lot of grind quality materials in my pack. I dont sell a single thing for under 10 cpu, I only sell via the bazaar and I have yet to have a sale ever timeout.
Really I can make 40k doing missions in an hour, if I am going to hunt for good quality resources for a crafter then in my opinion I should be making that much, even better if I get get missions for the creatures dropping the resources I need ![]()
Fish is a painful one. I found some good fish and I fished for about 45 mins and I got~100 units, which means I gotta sell my fish at about 400 a unit just to make a reasonable amount per hour. Course thats likely not feasible so I will just give it to my PA mate. Fish needs to come in higher quantities in my opinion.
Maybe I overcharge, but when I spend 60k on a crate of food I think... maybe not ![]()

thanks for a great post, this really helps. Mostly i've just been guessing what to charge based on OQ and PE. I've never charged more than 4 cpu for anything.
So apologies to everyone too, i seem to have been undercutting everyone's prices on ahazi.
I was just curios how much Dant Herb meat would go for, soI price gouged my meat to 10cr/u.Holly Sh*t people, someone bought it all, 50k worth. Now, I did feel bad forunfairly hiking the price upso I offered the guy some of my best stufffor 3cr/u. The moral of the story here is that there is a business outthere for rangers. The bad thing is, unless we hunt in groups, the price for our timehas to be factored into what we sell.Ihavespent some long hours soloing on Lok and Endor to find thebest I can and died many times, so my prices willslightly reflect this. I, however, dontbelieve in pricegouging. Thought I would just share some of thehappenings in the trenches of Ranger survival.
I have been toalmost every planet, what planet has the highest OQ and PE Herb meat?
The resources change all the time and are different on every planet and every galaxy... so we can't really answer what planet has the highest OQ and PE. Check your local Galaxy and Trade forums to get an idea. I've had Doctors give me 50k (30k for travel) to go to each planet and harvest a sample of insect, avian and carnivore meat. I get 20k and i've got the knowledge of where to hunt for the best stuff... i also sample the hides while i'm at it

I'm guessing you're asking about harvesting resources (sampling is how bio-engineers get DNA samples), and in order to be able to harvest at all you need to have novice scout as a minimum. Once you have that, when you kill a creature, or if you are grouped with someone that kills a creature, when you bring up the radial menu on the corpse of the creature, after a couple of seconds there will be a 'Harvest resources' sub-menu. When you hover the mouse over that option, you'll get options to harvest meat, hide, or bone, based on the type of creature it is. Just so you know, you can only harvest these resources from animals and not NPCs. The alternate way to harvest resources is to target the creature's corpse and use the command "/harvestCorpse meat", or whatever resource type you want.
I have a separate macro set up for each of the resource types: "/harvestCorpse meat; /loot", "/harvestCorpse hide; /loot;", and "/harvestCorpse bone; /loot;" so that I can just hit a toolbar hotkey for the resource I want and also grab anything that might be in the creature's or NPC's inventory. Some creatures don't have resources that you can harvest, but they will have an armor segment or something similar that you loot like an NPC, so in either case, I can grab whatever the creature has. One thing to watch out for if you use a macro or the command in the chat bar is that if you do "/harvestCorpse hide" but the creature doesn't have any hide that you can harvest (such as some birds), you won't be able to harvest it's meat or bone either.
Hope that helps you get started.
Then I guess my biggest question is, how do I sample creatures?
Christmas homework for somebody...
Write me an excel speadsheet with these maths ![]()
Just enter the resource quality numbers, and select the meat type, or hide type and it spews out a number at the automatically. Ah bliss...
Might have to work on this myself!
LOL better than what SOE could come up with
