Thread: Please support this idea for bringing back bio-farms which benefit Scouts/Rangers (link inside)
picasso11 wrote and once again I commented but now slightly miffed:
wow jb you really are a fool
No comment. But dude, JB is not wrong in what he said.
and im totally thru trying to work with rangers seems like the only ones with a voice are the ones that have no clue .
If you even bothered to read my post you would see that I have a very good knowledge of the game , and the economy... And I am a Ranger, with a voice. Once again you are generalising and calling me an asshat. PS: first time I used that word on a forum and it felt good.
a.)25-35 cpu is a fair price
Yes.. It is.. Never said it wasn't
b)i can make all the stims you need
Need none..
c.)i can make you a tank
Got pets..
d.)i can put you in clothes that will heal you faster protect you from melee attacks ans give you a boost to mask camo and cover
I wear armour.. So as long as it fits under a full suit of Ubese armour, ok then. Also I dont need mask , camo and cover skills. I dont need to heal faster , as I can make a high tech field base which I sit in while I **edit** to the bathroom .. Finally I only fight creatures and I have some stupidly high kinetic resist Ubese and generally know how to hunt without standing in front of the lair and shooting at it until I get incapped ( after all I am a master ranger ).
why would any of you not want to work with a guy like me
I can now give you several reasons.
#1 - You didnt read my post, or did and still think I know nothing about my own trade, which in my eyes makes you someone with either half a brain or a very poor sense of humour.
#2 - You talk like all rangers are offensive, but so far.. No one has flamed but you that I can see.
#3 - Although your prices are considerable for a trade, your attitude, manners, other offers of kickbacks which I don't need, and your insistance that you can get everything for 25cpu-35cpu and people are saying thatitsnot a fair price makes me wonder why you even bothered posting here in the first place... Why not go post in the trade forums with a comment like that ? LoL I would hunt for 35cpu - WHATS YOUR POINT ? -
I totally lost it , what was it again ? You hate rangers why ? because you think you can collect 20k of meat a day when your a BE and we all charge more than 35cpu ?
jees
Indeed MF, put some thought into your posts.. And stop bloody generalising so you can fight with JB , your annoying me and in turn that makes me aggresive in work, which in turn makes people wonder why I am laughing and screaming at a computer.. Which makes them look at my screen , which makes them see I'm posting on a SWG forum ! You fool !
LoL -- hows that for forum timing
Ok picasso11all is forgiven
But i still hold with the dont generalise cos you make me draw attention to my monitor thing !
I had to check the forum title, thought I was in Rifleman a sec there...
4 professions want our stuff and the devs do not realize just how few harvest bone/meat/hide. I think they are on a very old model of how that worked in beta and has skewed thier thinking. I understand the BE's can't affored the prices now. The most popular (and profitable) professions we serve are Armoursmiths and Doctors. They set the prices currently, sad to say, so they get d&mn near all our stuff. Solutions to this...
- Increase the take on a harvest(increase available resources)
- Decrease reqired resources(why does everything require hide, not plastic???)
Of those you picked the first. Personally, I would pick the second but ok, fair choice. Now to do this you add an element to the game, and not tweak the current setup. With this addition, you cite certain impacts and offer alternatives. Also fair. Only problem you are looking at this from your point of view. What we are offering is that you might have missed a few things, natual as you are not us and may not be aware of everything we go through.
Some of us have built up a good business right now because it is a sellers market. Giving that up would be a hard thing to do. However, I do feel that the market needs a balancing tweak at least. Eventually there is a point were no one is willing to harvest at any price. 9 units or less drops per animal is about my limit.
The fear for most of us is that this would not supplement our income, but sever us from it. While I would welcome the decoupling us from a labor class and bethe military class cited in the EU,I'm not ready to spam the starports begging for money to get to the next planet. Bottom line is I want to be both and right now we are close to that.
"Outdoorsman" in the 18th & 19th centuries were both then and there were no "beaver farms": Trapping yielded vast amounts of hides that made that obsolete for a time. I would like to keep this vision. If there be farms then there should also be something that we hunt that NO farm can make. I will concede perhaps "Domesticated" forms of resources.
I've not quite understood the resource choices in some of the crafted stuff, there should be more non-organinc used than organinc: imho far too many things that are polymer/plastic require hides and this makes no sense to my pea-brain. We probably should hardly matter to Armoursmiths, and be somewhat useful to Docs and mostly deal with Chefs and you BE's. The game would be far more immersive to me if stuff made by a techno-sociaty had hi-tech materials instead of those borrowed from EverCrack.

While this is true, I also have no problem hunting a lot of off-flavor meat it there's something in it for me.
An example: Dath Avian is currently hot on Corbantis: everyone and their brother is on Dath hunting. A tailor I know is short on wooly. He'll make me a couple killer bio-outfits and pay me for my wooly. Guess who gets my time? I can go hunt Bantha's in complete peace without dealing with the circus on Dath right now. Sure I could rake in the credits on Dath, but this game is not only about credits. If it were, we'd move away from socializing and more toward making money (hey, that sounds like RL).
I also agree that schematics should be looked at. AS need us more than Chefs? That doesn't make sense to me as well. I have yet to get an IM from a chef. I get an IM from an AS at least once a week.

And then keep in mind that we at master ranger level harvest maybe 30% more than you. Yes, only 30%.
If you have to raise your prices on your items to be able to get the supplies you need, so be it. SWG's economy suffers from some major designflaws, mainly the money-printing machines called 'Mission Terminals', and as such can only end in a massive inflationrate. Everyone will have to adapt, if the Docs and Armorsmithes right now can pay those high prices without raising their salesprices you probably can imagine their profits before the prices started to climb, why oh why should the BE be a crafterprofession with low-end markups? I doubt people buy pets from you very often, as far as I can tell someone will not come back to you every few weeks/months for a 'set of new pets'. Set a decent price for your products that will give you a profit even if you pay the prices you need to pay to motivate hunters hunting for you and not for Mr Random Armorsmith. Everyone in this game except the complete newbies (who do not have a need for bioclothing or chef-food etc pp) has credits en masse if he is not completly clueless, ppl will pay your prices and you will be able to sell your stuff.

Ask Tere about a 10k stack of Corellian Wooley I got for him (Eclipse). You know how hard it is to get Corellian Wooley? ![]()
I'll do special orders too, and keep the price competitive. I won't do them often tho ![]()

Is it as bad as getting Corellian Insect Meat?
Somebody get me a net for all these Butterflies! ![]()
I agree

I do agree that some form of static harvesting device could benefit our profession, but it must be implemented in such a way to differentiate it from a Ranch, and more in line witha Trapping Line.

Exactly why are there so few of us? I don't mean the Holo-slaves, I mean the ones that stay. Masters. Perhaps a more indepth look at that should be done.
