Thread: Well our existance just got worse. The Devs definitely hate us
but look at the hoops you have to jump thru to get the stimpaks. No casualplayer is going to take the time to track down a pharm 4 person then have them uploadstims...blah blahblah.
The harvest feature turns everyone into a scout.

Wrong!

You guys are being WAY to negative. We have no idea how this is going to be implemented- so don't knock it until Calc and I have had a chance to test it.
I am confident that this is a good thing.

Nah, they will not have even reach negative enough until someone is forced to lock/delete the thread. No implementation of this is going to be good for Rangers. Organics are all about the raw output numbers. If my uber combat template+Hunt1+Droid yields higher numbers than I did the day before the patch, Guess What? Less Rangers are needed.
I think this calls for some serious negativity.

I'm going to keep an open mind. If it increases harvests for a novice scout wouldn't it increase harvests for us? Can you feed your droid Veghash? I mean it's not giving a skill to anyone who doesn't have novice scout already. Most likely it will have a penalty for using a droid instead of doing it yourself...
IIt's not the amount you receive that's important, it's the portion of the total.
Here's what I mean:
Bob and Frankare standing in a room. Each has $1, so the total wealth in the room is $2. A third man walks in and says, "I have $10 here to pass out to you, Bob and Frank".
He gives Bob $9, and he gives Frank $1.
Frank just DOUBLED his income, and yet he's actually grown much poorer. Why?
The total amount of wealth in the room is now $12, of which Frank owns $2. He's gone from owning half the wealth, to owning 1/6 the wealth, and yet he actually got more money. He's poorer than he used to be.
A thing's value is determined by how much of it there is, and specifically, how much ofthat totalyou have. So anything that closes the gap between a Scout's harvesting rate and a Ranger's harvesting rate essentially makes the Ranger poorer. That's not even taking into consideration all the messy stuff like varying kill rates and such.

Fred,
C'mon.
Guys, you have really got to get this "the Devs hate us" crap out of your heads. Can anyone give me a conceivably logical argument as to why the Devs would EVER give any other profession the core ability of another profession? Anyone?
You can't. Because they won't. It's completely against their philosophy. Any noob who has been in the game 5 days knows that.
I have been a Correspondent for 9 months. Do you think that I would seriously let the Devs get away with something like that without flipping out on them? Do you remember how quickly I got the harvesting rates fixed when they were turned down after the group harvesting rules were implemented?
Calc and I have had those patch notes for a week. I've asked TH to fix the omission.
You guys seriously need to have more faith in us. I'm almost taking this personally.
B
You have to understand, it's not you I worry about. I'd rather not tell you a story about how Rifleman got tossed about and was messed with in spite of their corr. I had gotten the feeling that they just might have pulled the wool over your eyes, so to speak, and you didn't know. I was getting your attention. It worked
.
I'm not worried that you are not doing your jobs, on the contrary, I get the feelingyou are the only ones doing them sometimes. I think you missunderstood me.
If this droid automatically does the harvesting for me at my skill level I wouldn't complain.
If it does it at an increased level I would be annoyed.
If it stored all the meats and hides for me so they wouldn't clog up my inventory I would be thrilled.

Interesting comments here. So, you are against an increased harvest from a droid?

Once again we have been shat upon.
No other profession has had anything stolen from them.
Scouts had TN given to Squad Leaders and Combat Medics. Yes, all that leading and healing helps you run hills better.
Then camps were made useless to placate the whiners.
We had rescue, argueably our most useless skill, nerfed because we could mess with the uber BHs with it.
Now DEs can craft a droid that harvests.
I could say a large number of choice words, having extensive experience with expletives. However, simple words say it best.
TH doesn't care about us, he is catering to the masses, and we are not the masses. He is more than willing to screw us over to make a larger class happy. He must have gotten wind of our idea that more harvesting abilities would make us happy, and improve the economy, so he took the short way out and will now let anyone harvest.
Two words TH, and they ain't Happy Birthday.
JB
WRONG!
Droids are more powerful than ALL hospitals and camps when it comes to buffing and wound healing. (110 droid vs 100 Hospital and HTFB)
When was the last time you were buffed in a hospital? Doctors know droids are better, thats why you will get buffed OUTSIDE 98% of the time (the other 2% are retards fo buffing INSIDE because the droid DOES NOT override the buildings medical rating.
NERF DE's!

I hate to nitpick...but.
The Scout has the same core ability, thouhg not to the same degree as the Ranger. I would say the primary purpose of these two classes is to kill and harvest wildlife, thereby supplying a valuable resource to other classes.
And yet. Any elite combat class with a smidgeon of Scout can easily equal or surpass the harvesting ability of a Ranger. In retrospect, I'm not entirely certain Ranger has a core ability.
And no, useless traps, camps, and tracking don't count as core abilities.
