Its the whole 'be the tree aspect.' Be one with the wilderness. I agree from tracking we should know when a scanning party approaches. And be able to hide from hit. Climb a tree and hide type idea. If that seems to powerful for us to do. Then make the camo type kits that help against probot droids to be a artisan crafted device or better yet a smuggler. Maybe make us part of it not the whole of it.

I can see it now.....

Besides the reasons given here, it would be another reason to come to us before travelling even if camo might drop at the least expected instant.

I think this is something that reinforces interdependencies and makes it all the more interesting.

Ok, so I whack the probot and 8 stormies come to avenge it. They better bring a big lunch, cuz that means I open a big can of whoop azz. Or I run to my swoop and unazz the AO, whichever seems prudent.

STs are not a big deal. 8 can be done, btdt got the t-shirt (I killed 10 stormies and all he got was this lousy tshirt).

Cool concept tho. Spices stuff up somewhat.

Screw hiding from the freaking things. I am gonna kill each and every probot I can. I will find and destroy them with the same mindless determination (I do mindless really well) as I have rasps.

I think it's an excellent idea. I do think it makes sense that as a tracker/ranger/outdoorsman/tree-hugger you would notice them quicker and have a chance of remaining undetected. You could even get cute with it where you have to choose "how" you are going to hide which will protect you against specific types of scanning (so I choose to jump in that stream and hide my body heat ... great if it's a thermal scan, useless if it's pattern recognition as I'm now clearly a soaking wet humanoid). But even if it's just giving me a real reason to use my camo kits on myself, I'm pretty happy.

Being able to camo other people would be icing on the cake. "oooh, a ranger, could you camo me please? I'm off to brave the wilderness and you know all about it!"

It makes sense ...

Guys guys guys, and ladies too -

It's only / merely / just 8 stormies. I get missions off the rebel term with 4-6. I live through them. Easily. I do not stand there and shoot (anymore). I hit one with a bleed, run around avoiding them, hit another, run more... y'all catch on I am sure.

Now, my questions -

Very cool screenie, but what are all those odd looking symbols ya got there. I may move my toolbars, that looked cool.

If I do kill the first 8 stormies, do I get more to play with? And if so, can I get something in the loot besides freaking rebel transmission 3/4, I have 10 already.

I promise to report on my first probot encounter, regardless of the outcome. If I remember, I will screenie it too. Hmmm, me standing triumphant, weapon in hand, the sun setting behind me... hot dog.... well, beats the alternative, another trip to the cloner

Thats just badass, I have to do that just to see the shuttle come down... Interesting way youve got your interface setup, mines a bit more cluttered, but it works and I like it... I have two chat windows open, a large main chat window, and a smaller combat spam window to the right of it. Moved the Radar and menu toolbar to the upper right hand corner. Works for me, but yours is interesting too since its not cluttered at the top at all...

Anyone elsetotally revamp their EQ interface when they went to the new XML based system? Anyone else wish SWG would let us do that? Anyone wonder why I'm wondering about anyone?

Anyway, I like their way of handling the Probot destructo escape mechanism.

I wonder if 10 is the set limited? And if so, whether they considered the obvious XP and Faction Point camping this could be. It would be cool if 1 person spawned 10 STs while 2 did 12, 3 did 14 and so on. Scale the avengers to the players in the area (not just in group, since it'd take all of a nano-second for that to be broken ).

Somehow I think the whole 'conceal vs. NPC = useless' thing will have to be overcome before conceal could be considered in scan encounters.

Now if the Imperials start using Dewbacks to sniff for drugs, the Ranger is your friend!

Is my inflatable doll illegal? I just gets so lonely in the woods hehe

Seriously, on a sad note. I finally dropped Ranger. I didn't want to do it, but the pay or skills just aren't there. I want it back so bad that it hurts, but only when things get better will I go back (I will return to master that same day). Until then, I'm going to be watching the profession like a hawk, ready to come home.
