That sounds familiar... I'll add itto mylocal version right nowso I don't forget again.
in addition to that, parameterize the command so that you can do:
/ar animals
/ar people
/ar players
/ar animals,people
for example...
I would rather get a critical hit, or special attack with the weapon I've invested in, rather than have to get a new weapon to accomplish the same thing.
I'm not opposed to the idea of a Ranger Bow, but wouldn't it be better to just have a special, Ranger-onlyattack with the weapon you already use?
Hey NRaas, as usual a good job on the master list. Here are my comments.
1)What is their progress, if any, on making more traps for us? They keep making changes to our current stuff, and they added /conceal. I understand they are working on getting those working as planned. But we have been without any really useful traps since day one. Are they at least working on it? If not, any time line when they will start working on it? I believe that is hurting our profession. The addition of conceal and areatrack was fantastic, dont get me wrong, and they made the profession considerably more desirable and useful. But if it weren't for the fact that I play the ranger in a more RP roll, and have always thought of making this character, I would not likely spend the points to get master. As the profession is now.
2) On the dodge bonus. I think the idea of most rangers is leave the to hit bonus we get on animals (but we asked if it also applied to melee, and if not it needs to). We would like to get some kind of defence bonus, like dodging, or counter attack, ON TOP OF the to hit bonus on animals. Now I think the defensive bonus should be from any kind of attack(melee or ranged), and from any kind target(NPC, animal or player). We don't need to have as high a bonus that is maybe given to TK or anything, and if the same kind, it should stack with TK. Rangers don't seem to want to be Uber, just a little more safe and useful. Having a defensive bonus fits into both a Support Roll, and the idea of a Ranger.
"in addition to that, parameterize the command so that you can do"
That one has been on the list for awhile actually... But I'll emphasize it a bit more. ![]()
"What is their progress, if any, on making more traps for us?"
I have no specific details regarding traps.
We can all agree that the developers are making slow but steady progress on our profession...
I am actually pretty impressed with the progress so far, since our developer is hard at work on Player Cities. ![]()
"We would like to get some kind of defence bonus, like dodging, or counter attack, ON TOP OF the to hit bonus on animals."
Agreed. The next edition will be rewritten to state such. ![]()
I have one I would like to see.. Not sure if it does it or not already and I just haven't got the level for it.
On /examine
I would like to be able to see if they 'Pack attack' or not. Such as some creatures if you attack one they all attack.
I think that would really be useful in determining if you can take a creature or not. Ones that don't attack in a pack are much easier then those that do on the bigger creatures.
"I would like to be able to see if they 'Pack attack' or not. Such as some creatures if you attack one they all attack."
That request is on the list. ![]()
"Along with the bow i would also like to see some melee weapon. A ranger staff maybe ?"
The primary concept behind the Rnager Bow request is that it would do minimal damage on its own.
- Rather it would be an effects weapon that would augment our existing effects traps, and add some additional effects in the form of arrows.
Anything else, and we would be treadingto far into the combat profession neighborhood.
