Here, this is a post from Blixtev with the root definition that is in game. Although the shot concussion shot has changed again since then the root effect still is the same.
Concussion shot was intially designed to remove the whole concussion effect if you broken the daze for some reason but they changed it after they realised how much of a nerf it was. It now works like all other roots, the root does not break on combat, the daze does.
Snare has always slowed.
Hmmm, looks like I was totally off on the snare/root thing. Man, I hope so. Like Calc, I was under the impression that all the root/snare type effects broke on damage. If that isn't the case, right on. Disregard my previous tirade, would you?

Seriously, I stand corrected. So, when they fix Adhesive mesh, we will still have the effect of the broken P dart, but just have to trhow multiple traps to maintain it? That still doesn't sound all that great to me.
Actually pre-cu roots were never meant to break on damage either. They never did and were working as intended and described (for once hehe).
The only skill im not sure about now is paralize, i think it still has its mezz state rather than the daze/root but i cannot be sure.
- Snare: Slows target movement (same as pre-cu) - doesnt break on damage
- Root: Stops target movement (same as pre-cu) - doesnt break on damage
- Daze: Stops a target from attacking/healing (New since changes to concussion shot) - breaks on damage
- Mezz: Stops target from moving/attacking/healing - breaks on damage
The mezz im not sure is in game anymore but it used to be what the cm paralize skill was.
Actually, anything with a "daze" effect attached to itwill break on damage.

Yeah calc, it will be like stopping shot or concussion shot without the daze. We will have the snare too if the timer comes in like i think it will do.
Not sure if dimishing returns are coming in still, havnt heard much since the initial talk about it.
Whats the point of talking about the broken traps and what they should be doing when the quasi broken working trap is going to get fixed while the other broken traps remain broken and the trapping XP bug remains active.
Stick a fork in it Same crap Different Day.
The only way Ranger will be fixed is if we mrege with Jedi's, Entertainers, or Bounty Hunters.

Wrong. Trust me on that, I did use concussion shot last about 40 mins ago

The full effect is broken on damage, including the root-like portion. And btw it was not remotely a nerf, the FIX to concussion shot made this attack a lot more useful than it was before the fix where it was just an unusually long root
