Thats actually Daze, roots dont break on damage done. But yeah Phec wasnt working like it should or like ady mesh should.

I'll clarify. Roots stop the mob's movement for a specified period of time. Stasis stops all action of the mob until damage is done to it. I guarantee that you will be hit at melee range with a rooted mob. I know very well because they'll hit me if I get too close. I, then, have to move away. Admittedly, I knew the p-dart was broken, and enjoyed its usefulness while it lasted. After all, it is more rare to see pve bugs aiding the player than otherwise. Rooting a mob is no longer what it used to be. Pre-CU days meant it only lasted until damage was dealt. With this new system, it's on a timer. Very few professions have a stasis ability (Jedi is alone in this, actually... I may be wrong). And even then, it is said to expire when damage is dealt. Unlike root, stasis will prevent the mob from attacking even at melee range (unlike root).

I am upset that the other traps were ignored. There is no real proactivity here (complacent prioritizing is more like it). The devs just heard the noise from krayt hunters that others were able to solo the mobs and they couldn't. Crybaby heaven, I say. Though, the cries may be warranted, it is not valid to ignore the range of issues that have existed for a good while (viability [very low] or cost/benefit ratio [too high]).

You may be correct in saying that no professions will get revamps. Rather, they'll receive piecemeal fixes along the way. Ok, fine. I'll live with awaiting the boring warmup and cooldown period of trap throwing while I run farther away from the mission lair. And as I notice the trap hadn't landed, I'll take more damage from the mob as I await the warmup and cooldown timer for the next trap. I may, indeed, be hitting the mob as I'm kiting it, but I've never been able to outrun any mob (they always have an edge in the track&field aspect of the game). If they're going to fix one trap, they better as hell give us a throw speed increase while we await fixes for the other traps.

As we wait, I would only ask that they give adhesive mesh >2 charges per kit. 5-7 would be a worthy improvement, in my eyes. Of course, a fix to the trap would be sugar on top.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind it so much if they implimented a fix to make a broke thing work, but all we get is a fix that makes a thing that's working better than it should back to normal....

... but this is SOE... I'm betting that instead of working normally now, p-darts will now be just as broke as every other trap....

Come on people all GreenMarine ever said was the P-dart would be fixed and that Ranger would be addressed.


Well apparently the P-dart is the addressing Rangers recieved. <Snicker> I love it.


Wow I can only hope the P-dart works oh half as good as the Adhesive Mesh trap.


Now if we really think about it. These are scout fixes only.


Ranger has simplybeen pushed back to be more fully addressed at a future time when Rangers fall in within the scope of the game.

Guys just keep in mind the patch notes we looked at where partial patch notes. They were being moved most likely into the to do bin or something for tiggs and just got placed in the wrong forum. They are not complete and could have our changes on there.

There are usually several versions of a publish on TC before it goes live however.

Well, it should not be in here, but I feel thwarted by this... BF is going to be removed, but all the speak of the "new possible inspiration buffs" had lead to nothing. So in fact, this patch is going to remove functionality (ie as a LOT of people were "forced" to go and seek out entertainers, read the mindless grinders) it will probably empty cantina's even more...


Removing it without giving something positive in return (for entertainers to GIVE to the playerbase) was considered a bad move (see several forum threads) and this is now exactly what is going to happen.

Hey folks, don't laugh or cry. Three major game breaking bugs have been addressed:

Profession: Image Designer

  • Image Designers will no longer see other players avatars in the user interface as swimming

    UI

  • Removed the version number from the splash screen. If you would like to retrieve the version number, press CTRL+SHIFT+G in game.

    New Player Tutorial

  • Moved the tutorial toggle to a more obvious place in the character creation screens.

    You no longer need worry about the game. It is solid now.
