Thread: Is Ranger worth it?

Actually i have to defer....... as long as you pick a combat Profession suitable as a stand alone you can do semi well in Pvp. For example I am currently a Fencer/Ranger and I can still Pvp just fine. Learn your class and your strengths and weaknesses. You may have to invest in equipment more then the average Pvp template. But what it really boils down to is having a profession that is both fun and rewarding for you to hold onto. I enjoy Ranger because I have always played the Outdoorsy Solo type. But that may just be me
That's because you've only just begun. Give it time.
No need to be cynical. Ive mastered the Profession. Left it. Then came back several months later and am throughly enjoying regrinding the Class. The Ranger profession as a whole is very rewarding if it suits your style of play. Not everyone can play a Ranger. The same cant be said for Rifleman
No need to shoot him down because he found a class he actually enjoys playing.

Is it worth it for what? PvP? Certainly not.
But for picking up chicks, it's perfect. They go crazy for my uber camping skills.
hehe - never have to pay for a hotel room with ranger ![]()
But seriously, I think it's a great profession -- it's relatively functional at the novice level and all the way up the trees (not like some profs. where you really need to be master to be effective). There are probably some who would disagree with me though, and I can understand their reasons -- I would say try it - go up the tracking tree first and see what you think (that's where most our harvesting mods live + it has areatrack, which is a great asset in hunting things you can't get missions for). Then, decide if you want the rest.
