Thread: Holo Master Ranger... In under 7 days...
I was able to Master Ranger (and a fellow guildie - Jeep) in under 5 days using a similar tactic. Luckily we belong to a huge Rebel guild on Ahazi which has hunts nearly every night. The first2 days I tried going solo, got up to 0012 Ranger on my own. The last three days we hunted Rancors on Dath and Voritors on Dantooine in huge hunting groups and easily completed the scouting and trapping portions of Ranger. I polished off the camping exp using the hides and bone I had harvested over those last two days.
Some notes:
1k exp per trap on Rancors and some Voritors, and the same amount in Scouting for Harvesting
Always keep mask scent on, you get 100-175 exp for every red that pops within 64m when you're attacking a base
And yes, I had a blast!
"The holo sends folks to other professions, you don't see them turning their noses up at the newcomers. How does it hurt you if he powered thru Ranger in an afternoon? He'll be gone son and you can go back to thinking that ONLY the folks who picked ranger first are worth talking to.
Your correspondant condones this attitude. If new rangers who don't take the proff as seriously as the rest of you is your biggest problem, I'm happy for you.
I can't believe you are shunning the new blood. Who knows, maybe he likes his time here and re-specs to master ranger after he's got his jedi?
Ranger will be my 6th mastery and this is the worst attitude towards the influx from holo-madness I've seen yet.
My last post on this self serving, elitist, closed-minded board,
Good day."
Too true. I have come here looking for information and came away with the same feeling that it has a more elitist/snob feel than the others. When things are answerable in a simple yesor no, there is always a link.
.o0(omg...this question _again_ I am above having to answer this by typing two or three letter...let me post a link and save time.)
And when, God forbid, someone has posted on the boards about how to get to the top of the prof asap out comes the 'leave now and never come back' 'tude. Great post on how to get to the top of the ranger tree, good luck with your next holo profession. I myself am hoping that I can keep as much Ranger in my character as I go for the next profession so that I can come back and remaster it when holo madness is over.
ie,. I wil not be surrendering any of the Frontiering line...no way I go through that crafting grind again.
Now that I say that I know I will get a crafting class as next prof. lol
/emote steps up onto his soap box.
This forum is what solidified my decision to become a Ranger. The people here were extremely helpful and always friendly. To that point one of my best friends in the game is a person I first met here in the forums (woot Draknev!). "Self-serving, elitist, and close-minded" is not only incorrect but closed-minded in and of itself. Links are posted to help, not because we wouldn't lower ourselves to type a response. You mistake our comraderie<sp> for aloofness. Perhaps if you actually spent some time in this forum rather than pick a thread or two to base your unfounded assumptions on, you may come away with a better feeling about us. I'd invite you to stick around for a while or come back more frequently, and if you still feel that way then so be it.
NOW the holo Rangers: I personally have a dilemna <sp>regarding this. I took my time in becoming a Master Ranger, traveling to all of the planets, exploring, hunting and the like. I did frown on people that just powered through it at one point. However my overwhelming desire to become a Jedi caused me to rethink this. I finally came to the conclusion that I love being a Ranger too much to give it up in pursuit of being a Jedi, and instead became an Antarian Ranger, to support the Jedi. I can't in good concience<sp> however, frown any longer on those that want to follow the path of the Force. It's not something I would do, but I can't fault anyone else for doing it.
Pardon my rather horrid spelling....same dang words I've screwed up since high school. ![]()
Good hunting!

i have one thing to say about this class
i love it
the fact that i see some ranger running around asking for training just so they can be a jedi makes me mad
from what i saw in the jedi video, the combat is no different than KOTOR's and the powers suck worse than JKA's
i think its refreshing that we can be something other than jedi for once, and i find it a nuisence that someone i know quits master weapons smith just so they can have a bloody holocron
i myself am a ranger, i spend all my time outside of towns, wandering around and helping players when i can
I used a holocronand recievedmaster ranger(was in panic),butIwent from scout 4/4/4/3 to ranger 0/4/3/4 just under 2 days of playing (yes it can be done).I must say i was skeptical about ranger at first but even though i power grinded survival it's been quite fun being a ranger.<3

Been a Master ranger loooooooong before this post (some3 months now?)... what is there to be jealous of? I probably even trained you ![]()
*sigh* I just don't get it...
Good post. I got MR from a holo 2 days ago. Almost finished. Undoubtedly one of the easiest professions I have had to do. Good info here for holo Rangers.
It's funny, every other profession helps the holo guys. Rangers are offended? Lol! Piss off.

I really appreciate this post! Got ranger from a holo. Personally not a fan of it and this sped things up dramatically. Greatguide for doing it fast. Thanks for the good post.![]()
Ranger finished. 3 days. Those squill caves are AWESOME!
If you can afford it just spend 300k on bone and hide. You can grind out camping in a few hours.
/bump for a great post
