Will ranger gain anything that would make it a little more pvp-able? scan is nice but only i handy trick. not looking for the uber pvp profession here, just something that makes it a bit more versatile and pushes it into the pvp worls. thanks. the other stuff looks great!!

Ebary!

Welcome to the Ranger forums, bro!

I mean, my apprentice. ::grins::

As for PvP, a number of us are against it, a number are strongly for it.. We're trying to reach a reasonable compromise with the new discussions about the Outdoorsman proposal.

You guys need to keep these posts going....they really need to give us a reason for no fixes in 8 months...really. We need to at least be able to harvest 3 times as much as someone else at master compared to scout... this should be obvious...and for me... would be about all I need. If i want combat i got skill points left do do combat.

He throws a bone and you all get all roused up ! are you DOGs?

What can i say"ARE YOU FOR REAL HOLOCRON?"

Is this all you can conjure, what kind of development is this?MANYMONTHS PASSED SINCE RELEASE PLAYERS BEGGING IN HUNDREDS FOR A PvP ENVOLVEMENT AND ALL YOU COME UP WITH IS - CAMPS - AREATRACK - TRAPS... and you even have the nerve to start a POINTLESS debate about where rescue belongs.... GET FOR REAL AND MAKE HEADWAY !

1. Players have asked not 10 times, not 100 times but 1000 times for a way to conceal on the radar (ARE WE ON IGNORE? EVEN NON-RANGERS WOULD LIKE THIS) "right now this game can be played with /next target a the radar, combat-quemenu,ham- and macro- bars".

ZEROLINE OF SIGHT (shooting someone who is fleeing behind a mountain is possible, he goes behind a tree and you cant hit him)

ZERO USE OF DARKNESS (Infact night on a server is just annoying nothing more)

ZEROUSE OF WEATHER EFFECTS(has not a single meaning to the game except a HUGE loss of FPS)

----GIVE US CONCEAL FROM RADAR THRU CAMOFLAUGE SO WE MAY USE OUR WITS INSTEAD OF OUR SPAMS----

2. Traps on players, how hard can it be ? if your trapped your trapped, personally it should be much easier to useadhersive-meshon players than a HUGE creature. (IF YOU DONT WANT TO IMPLEMENT PLAYER TRAPS - DONT WAIST YOUR TIME)

3. Area Track OMG I CAN STAND 2500 METERS INTO THE WILD AND FIND ZERO animals within 500 meters and i can stand inside theed and find a dusin of creatures just outside the town (FIX THIS FOR HEAVENS SAKE - QUIT YOUR NON-SPAWN POLICY TO SAVE CPU POWER WE ACTUALLY PAY FOR THIS)

4. I could keep going on and on about how disappointed everyone shouldbe if they could see thru the excitement of an actual DEV comming to our forum handing out peanuts !

NOT IMPRESSED BY YOU HOLOCRON !

**edit**. When are the devs supposed to add this **edit** into the ranger class?I was all excited just like someone else above, then realized this is from last August. Jesus, takes 8 months to implement these changes ?

Pretty sad **edit**...

my favorite thing about rangers is that my idea of the most important ski8lls are based on scout xp, which, i hope you'll agree, is the easiest kind to get. now then, is there an actual proposal to increase the harvesting/ general "value" of being a ranger, ive heard a few things mentioned, but it all seems a little distant, is there a revamp, and if so, when?

This all looks great, but I have to say that I am still a bit mad that traps do not work on players and NPC's. I know the trip wire will eventually work on NPC's, but I just do not understand why my other traps will not work.

Getting ALL traps to work on NPC's and Player Characters would be a great addition.

Firstly I would like to say hello to everyone!

Ive only been playing this game now for about 2 weeks but im hooked. Me and my friends have had a fantastic time exploring the galaxy. Weve all spent time deciding what classes we would be to best help each other out, and after spending time looking at the skill trees ranger immediatly sounded appealing to me, considering it seemed few people had chosen it( im beginning to see why now looking at these forums:smileysad it sounded great, being able to help out my friends with the camp and camo kits on the inhospitable worlds, providing save haven for my doctor and entertainer friends while they do there stuff, and providing assistance by using my tracking skills to help us avoid deadly areas. However, after starting moving up the ranger tree, I started noticing most of the skills were not as useful as I hoped. Area track wasnt picking up creatures 30 paces in front of me. I couldnt use my "superior" tracking skills on the hunting missions. The camo kits appeared to be rather lame. The only thing going for me was the camping kits and the resource gathering. Senseing something wrong, I decided to check out the forums. I was very glad to see im not the only one experincing these difficulties, and reading all the positive comments from other like minded ranger players has given me new hope. My mates are happy that im able to supply the camp kits, but I cant help but feel that this is all im going to be useful for. Reading the proposed suggestions made me immediatly excited, until I noticed it was from august last year-please developers sort this out and quickly, I dont want to be working in a profession thats going to be this badly neglected. The most worrying thing is I havent seen any mention of the ranger in the dev cycle-this should be an immediate priority!

Anyway thanks for reading, time to get back into the galaxy and do some exploring!

Good to have you with us. Just remember the beauty of the skill point system--you can keep what you like and mix and match professions. There is nothing stopping you from getting a bit of Creature Handler and a bit of a combat profession along with Ranger. And there is nothing saying you have to have Master Ranger either. While some professions really work best when you get Master, others (like Ranger at the current point in time) can be seen as a bad use of skill points for the effectiveness you gain. Take what you like and use it. Don't bother with stuff you don't want. Ranger 0/4/4/0 or 4/4/4/0 might be enough for what you want. And you can put the skill points you save into some other profession. Don't limit yourself to only one thing. Although Master Rangers are the coolestbiwan:.

Rangers should definitly be able to harvest more resources than a scout. To be honest, I think the traps should affect ALL creatures, including player creatures, but not other people. They are ranger traps, designed to be used in the wild. One thing which I think should definitly happen is the ability to use traps in the caves, theres no reason why this should not be allowed. I dont think any enhancements should be made for PvP, its not a profession designed for that, you should take up a combat profession if you want to do that. I would much rather the ranger became the ultimate wilderness guy, but not very good at fighting other players. I think the most immediate issues to be addressed should be:

1. Ranger harvesting a lot more resources from slain creatures.

2. The ability to track down particular creatures-at the moment the tracking skill is largely useless.

3. The camo kits working to camoflauge against ANYTHING in the wild, whether it be creatures or npc's.

4. Implentation ofthe new traps and "hunting blind"camps.

I understand all of this has been repeated by many people on these forums but seeing as we have beenlargely ignored I figure it can't do any harm to raise them yet again, to let the relevant people now we are still waiting for some changes to make our profession useful....Please developers, dont make us wait even longer for something which you said would be with us several months ago.
