I wish the people I see had that kind of need for it, but with hunting parties leaving Dath every 15mins to an hour, I can barely get 3cpu...

Thanks, Im still a novice ranger 2-0-3-1 as I recently dropped Bounty Hunter. I didn't like the profession itself and I found all the skills to be useless without any defense. Anyway, I spend all of my time on Dathomir, but Im not really sure what professions need what materials, or what stats I should look for on the materials. On a side note, I must say that rangers are some of the best people I've come across in galaxies. This is the only board I've been to that doesn't have people constantly whining about nerfs and the sort (just traps, but yea, I understand that). All of the ingame rangers I've come across have been great too.

Any info on what I should harvest would be great.

Resources to gather as a ranger:

1. Bone

2. Hide

Sell the high quality stuff and use the rest for making traps and camps.

Hey do you have my lasso?

I need it to catch my long horn pikets that wandered off my property!

I am glad you think we are a good group because I do to. Though I do think we can be like sleeping dogs. You can pet us just not the wrong way.

btw, my experience has been...

  1. Meat. Chefs, Docs and Bio Eng. All want hi- OQ&PE and to a lesser degree FL. On Eclipse this is the hottest market, Avian can achieve 200Cr/U sometimes. If you charge that much I'll have to smack you tho 20-15 for good quality and all the Docs will keep you busy and wealthy anyways.

  2. Hides. AS and Architects, Some BE and Chef have a few schematics for it. OQ&SR, Mal and UT is nice to have too (HAM experimentation). Architects do not care about the quality.

  3. Bones, least important but do not neglect them. AS. Same as Hide.

I personally don't think there are enough Rangers around to force the price inone direction or the other. You might post this question in the scout forum ... I will also have to agree with the Other Rangers here that price is different on every server, on Flurry Isell high end organics from Dath,Endor,Lok for around 30 CPU. The other planets go a little cheaper but never less than 20 CPU forgood quality. I feel like my prices are pretty much in line withothers on the server as I never have a problem selling what I harvest.

I am a hunt master for RoB, Ranger of Bria, and we specialize in high quality resources in large amounts. We can and do charge high prices, but like I said we specialize in large amounts. Our usual order for a customer is anywhere from 10k to 100k of one spawn of a resource. Our prices tend to run from 15-50cpu.

Now the stats of the resource tend to have a large part of the price, but thats a little customer driven. The demand has a small part and very customer driven. The type of creature that has the resource is the other factor we alone think about. If it's something that gives decent amount of harvest per critter, say 30+, and can get missions for them, no biggie. But, if they are something small, like say the the rasps on Talus, then we might not even bother to hunt it. Not in an orgainized group. If it's something that is decent harvest, but no misssion, yes not everything can be gotten on a mission, then we might raise the price a bit. Tracking things is much slower

But on average, with just me running around hunting on my own, gathering something with the stats you said above, 30cpu is about right. I would say, 20-30 cpu for a good quality resource is a decent price to pay for a single ranger getting you a few hundred to maybe 2k or so of it.

We know its all about being able to run factory runs, or able to produce as much as possible of the same stuff, so we know we can charge a little more for getting a ton of it to you.

Is there anyway to change the stats on a resource? I collected some 7k Dath hide for personal use, but it's all the same. If I want to 'reroll' the stats, would I have to destroy the current batch I had and start over?

Err, no. Currently there is no way to alter it's stats. Stats stay the same on a specific type of resource untill it shifts. One way to easily tell, is if the same meat no longer stacks with your previously collected hide.

I think that makes sense, but it is late, so I may have to edit later

So if Im searching for a specific quality I just have to wait it out if I can't find what Im looking for? Or should I just go to a different animal that yields the same thing? I don't want to have to become patient...
