Different planet. More often than not there will be a good stat on at least one of the planets. When the shifts occur there are many people who go out and "survey" the planets to find the best stats for a particular type. Many post on swgcraft.com.

I agree we need to increase the harvest rate. We can harvest a fair amount as is, but for me to put the effort in to getiing stacks of 10k, 20k...I have to see some coin. The demand is huge for these items. I felt like the meat was overpriced at first, selling for 45+cpu, but then I saw the costs of food these chefs had...I no longer feel like 30cpu is gouging in any way.

Besides...they set the price, not me...I just answer the call.

I think the problem is that unless it is a special planet item needed, people are charging way to much for their time. I was asked for high quality insect meat once, I think everybody was going to Dathomir to get it. Because of the planet it was being marked up.

Dathomirian Insect Meat is specifically needed for Petstim C's. If it goes high quality on your server the CPU will indeed go through the roof for that reason. The fact that you have to stomp around the most dangerous planet in the game is incidental.

Personally I find prices come and go.

The economy on Chimaeara is only just starting to settle down, but even so I've had Doctors laughing at me for trying to sell 800oq 800fl 700pe avian meat to do them for as much as 3cpu! Then a week later the same ones are back begging me for Dolovite Iron (I've got surveying 3 from Artisan just to round out my resources stock) and happily paying up 60cpu (we had months with no Dolovite spawning, and then it spawned on Endor and very few of the less adventurous miners even tried going there for it, so it was kind of a captive market).

Most of the time I try to follow Volsted's figures from the sticky at the top of the board (and on my site in the sig below) and either add on a couple of cou or take it off depending on demand at the time.

Enoshima,

I think it was said recently that there really aren't enough Rangers/Harvesting Scouts around to control (drop) the prices. I agree. I think it is really the Doctor/BE/Armorsmith resposibility to control the prices.

On Radiant our Doctor/BE/Smith/Ranger community has a really cool communication tool. We set up a public Chat Room called RIN (Resource Information Network - or Ranger Information Network depending on who sets it up, lol). Anyone who wants can join the chat and share/request information.

- Rangers can find out what planet has the best resources, who is asking for the resources, and what they are paying.
- Doctors/BEs/Smiths can request resources and offer prices.
- Hunting parties can be formed to hunt a particualar resource.

I join the chat everyday just for the commentary. It is like a mini-Ranger community. If prices are going to be controlled this is the place where it would happen. It really has to be on a server-per-server basis. I very rarely see a Ranger set a price. Usually it is the customer who will say "Hey, I'm offering 40cpu for the current Rori Avian - anyone have some?" I have to say this benefits the Ranger because, with a really good resource, it can become a bidding war. At one point Corellian Avian was driven up to 120 cpu (it was REALLY good and a PAIN to get a lot). If the customers want the price to go down they have to consistenly offer a lower bid.

Personally I see no reason for the price to go down. If I buy buffs and use pet stims while hunting and then sell my resources for like 3cpu - it would take me hours to break even. I do think 100+ is FAR too much, but 30cpu seems reasonable. I don't think I would hunt Rori, Corellian or Tat avian for anything less than 50 unless it was a favor for a friend. BORING! I'd much rather be exploring!

Anyway, thats my 500 cents, lol!

As I understand it, the harvested resources change after a random time for each resource, which could be after a few days or a couple of weeks. Resources don't all change together, or at least I haven't noticed it happening.

Each example of the same meat with different stats has a specific name, for example the Dathomiran Insect Meat Eire (pretty excellentPE, goodOQon Farstar) could stop dropping and be replaced by Agarcha (grind quality). Both types can exist side by sidein your inventory but they won't stack since they're different names.

If you want a better quality meat / hide /bone than the one you have, you'll have to shop around, investigate different types- just because a resource comes from a certain planet (e.g. Endor, Dathomir) doesn't mean it's good. There's normally four or more types of every resource and they change in a random cycle.
