Thread: DEVS Stop this camping outside of the city crap!!!
Sooo, your complainin that now we only have to run 400m instead 1000m when we are out camp grinding...
I meen you still have to camp the same amount of time... you just save 2min on the running time...
And you get more visitors ![]()
How about no-build zones that are specific to the city?
For example, you should be able to camp pretty close to theoutposts on Dathomir, given the nature of the planet.
But on Naboo? Tatooine?
1km is fine, there.
Of course it really doesn't affect me all too much, (except no-build on Dathomir and Lok), seeing as I spend all my time out in the wilderness, anyway.

I have no problem with this. On the advanced planets it would make more sense to gain survival exp closer to the cities due to their difficulty.
But people camping and gaining 'survival' exp a few meters from the starport on Coronet is just plain stupid. Sorry, it really is.
Zhall you're obviously one of the non-ballsy Rangers who never left starting planets, try hunting a major planet. This is necessary. No camp zones are a bitch on Lok and such. I have to run out FURTHER than my mission to set up camps all the time.
And stop being so selfish, this HELPS rangers. You should be glad it'll help your fellow rangers. That's part of why they call it the "Ranger Community" etc.. they're all out of the greater good of their class.
So it's ludicrous to be able to camp a little but closer to the city.. but it's perfectly fine to be half way between Bestine and Wayfar, in the middle of nowhere, with nothing but white sand around you, and not be able to camp, cause it just HAPPENS for some reason, to be a no-build zone. And it perfectly fine, to setup a camp, and go AFK for an hour, and come back to see you only got about 400xp if your lucky. And since visitors to your camp are rare, you end hurting yourself (either by foraging, or tumbling) and healing yourself, just to get a little XP boost.
IMHO, I have not camped once for my survival. I could just have easily sat down in a spot far enough from the little red dots on the radar, and I would have to heal just the same.
With Survival XP we can use all the help we can get..
DEVS!!: PLEASE LISTEN TO US AND MAKE FORAGING GIVE SURVIVAL XP!!!!!
ANYWHERE outside of Coronet on Eclipse is an industrial wasteland. I no sooner get far enough away from the actual city to set up a camp, and then I can't set one up due to being too close to a building. Now with the new restriction on deploying a camp near a lair it will be even worse.
Maybe I'll just have to buy a Winnebago (spelling), once vehicles are in the game, to get my 'camping' experience : )
You should be able to settup a tent anywhere and rest/ tend your wounds. Which should be done wherever you need resting. The problem you explain with crowded city borders with tents is just plain far fetched.
I was playing for the majority of yesterday. Now I didn't visit every city in the game but I did head out from several of the more popular cities, and no there wasn't, what you like to call, a "ghetto" look to the outskirts of town.
This is a step in the right direction, but, not the final step by any means. It helps us be more group friendly and benefitial to a larger player base. Because you feel cheatened for a less then valid reason seems pretty selfish to me.
If you felt cheated with the hand that was delt to you, you shouldn't have played the hand.
Craft an improved Camp Site (Good XP/low ressouce cost)
Then find a crafter wich is macroing in a build zone (easy to recognize, often found near harvester).
Deploy camp close to the crafter.
Wait 20 minutes.
Disband the Camp.
You gain 1K xp.
Repeat 2 times and you will get 3K xp / hour.
I reach Frontiering III using this method. so spent one hour a day in camping and your will reach Frontiering III in 40 days, Frontiering IV in 70 days. That does not take too long to reach in my sense ...
Hakbhar
You can cut that time down even further if heal wounds, or buff stats during while in camp.
My medic and I deploy camps for a maximum of 10-12 minutes to receive the maximum experience.
Requirements:
1) A partner, you need a second person in camp for the duration to acheive maximum exp in min time
2) A partner who buffs... Set up the camp when you need a buff, and the survival exp will flow like water
3) A minimum of 10 minutes... I used to set up for 22 minutes (that is the upper limit for xp with a companion). With the buffs flying, I don't even need to wait that long
Do this while traveling and hunting...
I don't see this necessity to set up camping solely for the exp, we are Rangers after all...
Setting up a camp for pure exp sounds a lot like what those puny scouts do ![]()
I used to deploy field base camp near "hot" zone ... and have 5 to 12 people in it, healing wounds ... and in such way you'd better take a look to your camp status very often to disband camp and build a new one every 10 minutes !!!
more than 7K XP / hour
Camping alone and wait until camp auto disband is an very poor way of gaining xp ... poor xp ... poor fun ...
Gaining xp in using camp to help people to heal wound give us more fun, more xp, more sense ...
So I do not think that increasing xp bonus for camping is a real need for our profession ... many other thing more crucial are to be fixed !
I still don't see how it is now "easier" to get survial XP since we can build camps closer to cities. It still takes time to get though the camps, and with out any coordination with others, it is long time. It just means the Grinders will be closer to home. They still will grind.
