Thread: An idea, what do you think?
Ok, if we are searching for long-term and real/sustainable changes and improvements, as mentioned previously...wouldn't the introduction of personal vehicles and mounts virtually render this feature as extremely limited?
i really wish you guys would read http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=ranger&message.id=2705.
It has all this and more in it.
Especialy you Mineras![]()
I thought it was a formal collection of all our greatest camp ideas and how to implement them into one basic camp design. however no one is posting any feedback for the idea![]()
That would be an awfully powerful tool. I like it, but only if it's granted at Mastery.
the same here is a great idea but just to go back, I dont like the idea of appearing in the shuttleport terminal.
now if you could set a beginig point and an end point then that is great. I'll explain myself.
1. get to lok and leave nyms stronghold. here set up the firrst camp a little ways to the city.
2. go far far away hunt all the kimos you want and then set up camp two(note that point one is still up)
3. you can go to and from these two camps, but it has to be xpensive I mean 3 or 4k per ticket(so is not exploited)
4. only master rangers can do these, (not even survival 4 because people will macro camp just to get this)
5. Fairly expensive to build, maybe only by architects or a combinations of architect components anddroid engeneer componets and we assamble the ultimate product.
If it meets this conditions (specially the being a Master Ranger) I'm all for it
This all sounds pretty cool and wild, but couldn't we just get the current Hi-tech base fixed and enhanced a bit first before we start talking about super bases?
- For example, the laser fence should actually work and fry any beasties that try to come in - kinda like a moth or mosquito zapper.
- The bunker doors should be functional and allow us to go inside and sit or something. Maybe even have a table and chairs inside the big bunkerfor strategy sessions, heheh.
- People should not be able to steal our chairs!! Or datapad for that matter. If your gonna allow stuff to be picked up, restrict it to the base creator. And at the same time, once picked up, we should be able to drop them again and move them around like furniture. The way it is now, if someone takes your datapad, they can hold your camp hostage forever since it will not disband on its own.
Sidenote to JediJazz: The High Tech base does stay put - just make sure you don't engage in combat for the first few minutes. I've spent hours doing missions, hunting, have flown to other planets and have even logged out several times. Each time I come back the base is still there and in my control. The only thing so far that seems to kill it are the daily updates in the morning.
- The cots over in the med section should allow peeps to lay on them - maybe provide a higher rate wound healing for those that lay there. Imagine how cool it would look if you had 'casualties' laying over there in those cots.
- The lights in the base should be brighter - heck, my personal flashlight almost washes out the huge camp lights.
- When it rains, our supposedly 'high tech' roof leaks!
- The satellite dish should rotate.
- And for crying out loud, this base should have been the reward for becoming master, not just anyone who cranks up the survival tree -especially now that camp exp can be gotten so quickly by just hanging outside the metropolitan limits. What special goodies did we get for becoming master?
Besides, like some of the other folks have mentioned, once landbikes and mounts come, peeps are gonna want their own vehicle and the "shuttle camp" will no longer be as appealing. Most anyone who is going that far out there is probably advanced enough to be able to afford a bike or mount and will want to use that rather than a shuttle.
Just my 2crs.

Great idea.. maybe the schematic could work like this:
Add an optional slot for the beacon, so you can make the camp with it or without.
The beacon would have his own schematic, this way the DEV can balance the resources it needs. Maybe make different beacon schematics, maybe even.. though this would defeat the solo ranger idea a bit, dont put the beacon schematics in the Ranger tree, but the Droid Engineer tree.
Experimentation could decrease the time it takes to show up on planetary map / travel map.
Or the maybe limit the number of people it can port, say basic is 10.. can be upped with experimentation to 20 or even more.
