Nice to know I'm not the only one considering what career would benefit my Ranger skills once I get them. I need 200 apprentice points until Master Scout. I already have 30k of the 10k of scouting xp needed for Ranger. I feel silly to have wasted my app points going with Master Marksmen, but the bonuses help!

Reading what's planned for Ranger got me going big time. I am almost ready to be people to let me train them.

I hope to be a Pistoleer/Ranger, but am unsure what to do after that. I like crafting, but you can't put a price tag on being able to heal quicker in camp. So what to do? I guess I'll see.

As of now, I have almost Master Scout (200 apprentice points away), and I am a Master Marksmen.

In Artisan I have Eng III, Dom Arts IV and Surveying IV.

In Medic I have FA II andOrg Chem II.

In Brawler I have Unarmed III. I thought about Commando or Smuggler, but when I realized I would have to relinquish all Scout skills, I quickly squashed that one.

Anyways, I have 6 skill points left. So we'll see. I most likely will keep the medic skills and get rid of all the Artisan and Brawling skills.

Right now, I'm a master marksman and master scout. I was working toward Bounty Hunter. The 40K XP you need just to qualify for Novice BH seemed like a haul, so I was checking through my skills one day. I tried creature handler, but I just didn't like it. I'm more of a track and kill kinda player. No time to mess with pets or droids. I saw that I qualified for novice ranger and basically the whole first tier of skills, so I tried it. To tell the truth, I like it. I'm still grinding out the 40k XP for novice bounty hunter, but if I like the new changes that are coming for rangers, I may just stick with it since I've enjoyed the kind of play the profession has within the game. If I do stick with it, then I will make some changes to my marksman skills tree.

If I stick with Ranger, here's what I'll ultimately work toward:

Marksman
Expert Carbine andExpert RangedWeapon Support. (Getting rid of pistol and rifle branches)

Master Carbineer - (Since I've beengrinding out the BH XP I've only used a sliced and boosted laser carbine and love it!)

Master Ranger

Medic (rest of skill points)

If I decide to go with Bounty Hunter, well, Rangers will still hold a place in my ice-cold heart. :-D

As of right now my character looks like this:

Artisan: 4/1/0/1

Medic: 2/0/1/0

Marksmen: 0/4/0/4

Pistoleer: 0/1/3/1

Master Scout

Creature Handler 1/2/1/1

Novice Ranger (I have enough xp for many boxes on ranger, but am only actively pursuing the frontiering line)

My plan for my finished character looks something like:

Marksmen: 0/4/0/3

Master Pistoleer

Creature Handler: 3/4/1/3

Master Scout

Ranger: 0/4/0/0

With some of the upcoming ranger changes though, I might skimp on Creature Handler and Pistoleer some and improve my ranger abilities. This will wait until the changes are actually in the game though.

I am planning on ending up like this:

Ranger: Mastery

CH: 1111

Medic: 0200

Marksman: 4203

Rifleman: 0400

_________________________

As opposed to where I am now... Which looks like this:

Ranger: 0220

CH: 1111

Marksman:4203

Rifleman: 0000 - Novice

Do you like it? Do you like it, Scott? I call it, "Mr. & Mrs. Tenorman Chili"

Oh and in the part where I listed where I am now, I do have Medic: 0200

Anybody use that Drag Incap'd Player ability? Is it worth having?

I have never used it, so I don't know if it's any good. I had a chance to last night, but I keep forgetting to hotkey it.

My current plan is as follows:

Master Ranger (Rangers are cool)

Master Rifleman (A sneaky, sniping Ranger is even cooler)

-If rifleman turns out to be lame, i'll probably go Master Carbineer (ranger/pistoleer just doesn't seem right to me for some reason)

Remaining points in CH -the plan here was to collect baby pets and sell them to non- CH (but if they only allow CH with transfer to trade them, this plan will go bye bye.)

Currently I have

ranger 2/3/0/2

rifleman 0/1/0/0

CH 1/1/1/1

medic 1/1/1/1

Artisan 0/0/0/4

Here's what I'm currenly aiming for, though it has already changed a few times:

Master Ranger

Master Unarmed Spec

Pistol Specialist

Slicing II

Novice Weaponsmith

That leaves me with 2 useless skill points.

OMG... I love life, liberty and Pistol Whip, or whatever they call it. Pistoleer, first box on the right, buttload of combat xp to get.

I gave up Artisan 3 (sigh, big whoopie) and First Aid 3 to free up some skillpoints and picked up pistolmeleedefense1...aka pistol whip. Ever drop a freaking hambaba with a smack upside his head?? Holy head buster Batman. And as my pistol is sliced, diced and extremely fast, I am nailing the beastie 4 or 5 shots while it lays there, stunned outta his lil mind. I think survey2 will come back to eat up my remaining skill pts.

Has this changed my life --- nah, I am maxed on all but stupid Survival. Does this mean I can smack the living snot outta big meanies, oh yeah it do. Case in point, to the stupid imp who shall go nameless (Dathomir) and his two pet ATSTs... well son, that was a Ranger put ya down and an Entertainer/Scout who done ya in. Neener neener. We ain't bad, just them that are leave us alone.
