Thread: Creature To Hit Bonus
OKay well in the next few days i plan to hit ranger..and the ONE problem i see is here..so the ranger "representative" please read
While looking over the abilities and prequistes to Ranger the one thing that caught my eye is the creature to hit bonus only applies to Ranged weapons... Now the one problem i have with that is their is no RANGED prequiste to being a ranger. I am a heavy swordsmen working toward ranger and since i dont need marksmen to get their i dont understand why theirs that bit of prejudice inserted withen the class. I think this bonus should apply to melee and ranged because the only prequiste to Ranger is Master Scout.. And noone said you have to use a pistol/carbine or rifle to master that
I never really understood the benefit of the creature to hit bonus.
Can someone explain it, how it works and if it's currently working?
Are we the best class for fighting creatures overall?
since when did the rangers have such a fast moving forum?

"I never really understood the benefit of the creature to hit bonus."
No one else has much idea about the effects either... Hence the silence. ![]()
It's so subtle, that most Rangers think the skill doesn't work at all.
There have been suggestions to improve the visibility of the skill (they are on the list).
But like many of the defense skills in the game... Any obvious documentation is... lacking. ![]()
actually I still don't understand the reason behindseperating"melee" & "ranged" in creature to-hit bonus...
Can anyone give me one reason for that?
I did a quick search, did not find this being addressed recently...
I've noticed that the creature to hit bonus, only benefits ranged professions. Surely there are other melee who have Ranger skills .... Has anyone spoken up about this?

Yeha, do a search for it...
I've always said, Rangers were hunters, and when was the last time you saw a hunter go up to its prey and punch it in the face?
I've never liked that response....
Surely if I can shoot a critter in a soft spot, I could stab it there too?
The to hit bonus comes from a knowledge of the creatures
Um... well traps, and mask scent make 'punchin a creature in the face' quite plausible. Or dispatching it with a knife/sword. Not all melee are TKA.
And, since including melee in this bonus in NO WAY affects a ranged weapon weilder- I don't see why you could possibly care. Unless of course, you're just a spiteful person.
