Thread: What do you master rangers take as a secondary profession?

Bounty Hunter. Its a fun way to make a living, the pay is decent, and i usually hunt along the way
Ok, please tell me how you get to be a bounty hunter as a master ranger. TO master ranger you need to master scout first. Skills only allow you to master 3 professions and to be a bounty hunter you also need to master marksman. So please enlighten me how you would be a bounty hunter. I understand you could learn 3 or 5 skills in the Bounty hunter profession by mastering marksmen but you still cant master it. Is that what you meant?

Rifleman, god help me.
same here...Ranger/Rifleman is the way i'm going...what a pain it is too...

Master Ranger, Shadowfire
I am mastering CH as well as Ranger. My other option would have been rifleman since these to me seem the most to go hand in hand with rangers and what they do as this game has designed it anyway.

Hiya,
I initially tried Ranger/Rifleman, but got tired of the instant beatings, but may go there again depending on how things change (And buy some better armor) (I love the idea of being a sniper)
For now I'm a Master Ranger -- CH (4-4-2-4 Going for master) --- Novice Medic --- Artisan (0-0-0-4)
With this template, my fighting is restricted. No more Huge lairs without a decent weapon, but I rarely hunt alone. As it stands, I'm making a very good income from resources. Medium missions and harvests, give me more then enough cash for my harvestors, and they only gather specific resources for key Chef/Medic uses.
Another source of income is cratesof basic camps. Put some in heavily populated cities and you'll see how well they sell. Alot of creature handlers and novice scouts (mostly forthe terrain negotiation) who gather resources for their own needs and love the crates.

Flurry, Master Ranger/CH

Working on Master TKA
Novice Medic
How is that coming along? I'm thinking of dropping pistol and going the TKA route.
Hey all...my 2 cents,

Ranger-4343 (SO CLOSE!)
TKA-2122
CH-3211
Novice medic
This is exactly 250 skill points, and I continue to level up both TKA and Ranger, so I'll have to drop the CH skills as I need points (I used CH as a way to move up TKA faster and fight more interesting mobs, but I fundamentally don't really like it, and am glad about some of the changes they are making). When I hit TKA master I will become my own tank...
The verdict: I love this combo...I've never picked up a ranged weapon, and probably never will. TKA is lots of fun, and ranger is great. I normally hunt in groups with plenty of marksmen and find that I play kind of a unique role tanking and directing the action from up front. From a RP standpoint I like the idea of the ranger in tune with nature and killing with his bare hands...when I'm RPing I like to TKA meditate in front of a fallen creature to pray for it's spirit (dorky, I know). I don't PvP much, so I don't have a lot of the TKA complaints about being useless in PvP...I mostly only duel other melee classes. It is a fairly effective combo when I am solo, since most mobs in the game are melee and I have great melee defense.
Downsides: currently the creature "to hit" bonuses we get as rangers only apply to ranged attacks, which is super lame and hopefully will be dealt with soon. Also, TKA can be slightly useless versus the largest creatures in the game (Krayts, Giant Dune Kimos, etc.), because I typically die in one hit. Hopefully this will get better as I progress up TKA, and for now I tank pets and heal pets and players during big game hunts. Also, TKA XP takes forever...I play the game, and get XP as it comes, so no bigee, but if you are in a hurry, TKA is probably not for you (despite some posts on the TKA board that say otherwise). I'll be Master Ranger twice over before I get to TKA master...
Hope that helps!
