Thread: 30k resource deed sucks thread
On bloodfin one of the richest players now has enough of these to get 750k of some uber material. And he will likely use it on some organics probaly avian meat. So now one player has a lock on that market on bloodfin. But the 35 players who gave up there deeds dont have this ability anymore.
The other thing people arent really thinking about is the numbers. Outside of eggs and fish (btw both great uses that i hadnt thought of) even avian meat is only a couple days (excluding tat) to get 30k. And it takes 2k per crate per factory run to make up. So in 15 crates that deed is now gone forever.
The ones benefiting most are the billionaires who have bought all of them up from players. But otherwise this is a short term thing that wont effect us in the longterm. Besides when someone sees that the anti-decay kits are getting 15m each on bloodfin (15 million!!!) they wont use there reward for a 30k stack they'll use it for a kit.
Oh yeah and burning it up for 30k of OQ1000 culshion? I have 400k of OQ980 culshion i mined months ago. It takes i think 20 per sabre if i remember right. And it doesnt effect the outcome that much. Will you remember this in 6 months like i will with my toys?
But thats what veteran rewards are all about. Getting something that makes you feel like you earned it. If its money, toys, or a 30k materials deed, great. Then the devs did what we needed. But this is a short term thing not a long term thing
However, as it was also pointed out - this will only last a finite time. Unlike the non-decay kits, which can be retrieved and used on something else over and over - the resource stack is a one-time deal.
I'm not terribly bothered by the whole thing but I just have to say that the above is not true. There's still the fact that there will probably be a number of people reaching their reward mark every week or so... so these will probably be around for a while.

If I am not mistaken they can also be used to clone uber resources from the past.
So whatever prized stock of resources you have and/or worked hard for or any dreams of harvestingsome near-uber resource tomorrow have been ruined.
It's all a wash folks.Resources can now be conterfeited including ones that used to be "rare"
I wonder how armorsmiths would feel if one of the vet rewards was for a free suit of 40% stun 90% base armor.

30k resources were a great idea. culsion gas on kauri was being price gauged to hell. 7000 cpu for some gas (you do the math). the 30k resources put a stop to those ripping off the general public.

Good point sanca, but at that point, there will only be a few 30k stack ever now and then. And you still only have a few people actually getting the resource stack.

Edit: Actually when you think about it - its quite clever. Its another economy drain. Taking money from those that always make more (i.e. loot hunters) and giving it to those more likely to spread it around by spending it. Along with the better spawns they are hitting the "loot industry" quite hard by making it more avaliable.

I have 2 comments about this:
- It isn't and economy drain, as no money is leaving the server.
- In many/most cases, the crafters are spreading money out to their partons and it will eventually get back into the hands of those crafters.

Its being spread out tho to people more likely to spend it on travel, bikes, insurence, cloning, housing, factoriesand the like. The wider the cash is spread the quicker it will drain.
i.e. If one person has it they only spend it on a maximum of three vehicles, 10 houses or factories, one set of insurence, one cloning location,a maximum of three ships andone player is only playingfor travel ticket at one time.
Thats not to say it'll fly out of the economy and your point about crafters isvery valid
I'm really amazed that the resources can be taken "back in time". Wow. It's basically a 3+ million (as high as 10?) credit gift for playing the game for three months.
30K is a lot when you start thinking every player you run across potentially has a 30K stack of the most uber resource a crafter can want on them. Well, unless of course they want the miniature 3PO instead.
5k would have been plenty generous, especially if you can wind the clock back.
Yeah, suddenly that rasp hunting macro is looking pretty guilt free.

They are on time use and most crafters deal in multiple 100k stacks of a resource.
I am not worried.

To waste a reward on a 30k stack of anything is just not that intelligent. Its a once and done deal.
This will do nothing to hurt your business at all, if anything this is a decent sized stack in order to make more "personal" crafts and most likely not to be use in mass producing.
- Personally, I used my 30k stack to get the best Culsion Inert Gas to ever have spawned on Corbantis for my 3rd and 4th generation saber (OQ 1000)!
- Doctors making personal runs of buffs w/ stats over 3k for guildmates..etc...
- Or Chefs making custom brandy.
I think it was a decent idea, and don't regret picking it out over decoration. Even though I would like to have a mini tie and mini x-wing, oh well just wait till next year, lol.
And really the AFK Rasp macro is gaming the game. We can only imagine the damage that guy did and how many imitators are out there doing it as well
