Dunno! But added something too I have seen it, read it, so if it gets deleted we all know the bugs are censored....

I've started something, not sure if it's wise but I'm mad, pissed off, annoyed and so...

Now, let me first state that I'm probably as disappointed as all the rest of you at this happening. *IF* the changes went in exactly as they were tested by so many on TC, that will be the single biggest disappointment to me so far in this game.

*HOWEVER*.... as far as I know, the servers aren't actually up with the patch yet. I'm not happy with what the notes say, but we don't *know* that the devs haven't tweaked anything behinde the scenes as part of this patch. Wouldn't be the first or last time a "stealth change" went into the system for different things, but didn't get explicitly called out in the patch notes. Yes I'm unhappy at how things look, yes it will be a huge let-down if we're ASKED to do testing and provide hard numbers, do so, and then get summarily ignored, but we also shouldn't just to conclusions until we can get on a live server and see if what we *think* is the case is actually the case.

I also would not overlook the fact that I'm quite certain that JB, Owen, Calc and Brisc are in there fighting the good fight for all of us Rangers and Scouts behind the scenes - in places most of us can't see. Just from what I've seen and learned on these boards in the 7 or 8 months I've been here playing the game and seeing these guys in action, I can not imagine that any of them are simply going to let two entire professions get rolled over in this way.

So... before we go and clutter up a bunch of threads on a bunch of boards, before we degenerate into post like I see in ever bug and discussion thread from a few folks from the Smuggler forums for example("What about auto pull?" "What about our revamp?" "What about blah blah blah?"), let's actually see what's up in Live. Let's see what news Owen & JB have from the Devs on this. Lets see if Tiggs pops up here and either pounces the heck out of us, or has some kind of information / answer to all of our concerns and issues with how we THINK this is being implemented.

I'm not saying that this isn't massively upsetting - if it is implemented as it was on TC, then it is. I'm just saying, let's exercise some of that Ranger caution and good judgement and make sure we know the lay of the land before engaging. Then if it's what we think, press on. If not, we don't look like idiots for getting spun up and crying all over the forums before we even know what's up on a Live server.

As matter of fact, she was in chat (from launchpad) when I told her to check out ranger forum, she quickly disappeared.... nuff said...

Then it, IMHO, it's even worse... patchnotes you cannot trust.....

The whole idea of patchnotes is to let people know what has been changed, fixed, or introduced/added.

If these notes are inaccruate, then don't show them at all...

For all we know they might have dropped Ranger alltogether but forgot it to mention it in the patchnotes...Just a minor detail...

I'm sorry but for me patchnotes are sacred

The last message I just read in this thread was an SOE rep stating that they will get on it right away, so lets just give them a chance first before we pull out the cannons

Hi - is there anyway that you guys can be less negative? This doesn't mean that the devs haven't read our objections, and this doesn't mean that our objections have been ignored, it just means that their priorities are different than ours. And sometimes in the adult world that happens. It's called compromise.

Seriously, if you want to complain about things, here's a list - have at it, I'll help:

1) camps don't live up to their potential

2) traps don't live up to their potential

3) camo never seems to work as well as it should

4) the most useful skills of our profession are all in the 0040 tree

5) our terrain negotiation skills only mean we crawl fast

6) etc..., ad nauseum, ad inifinitum.

I for one am happy that I can group with people again. Hell, the old system was every ranger for him/her/ or itself -- now if you find another master ranger in your uber hunting grounds, you can group with him/her/or it and you both benefit. Now if your guildies want to get a big hunting group going, you don't have to begrudge them the 40% loss incurred under the old system. And if you don't want to group, you don't have to -- you'll still harvest just as much as you did before. Sure, someone else might harvest more, but hasn't that always been the case, since harvesting rate has never a function of just your harvesting skill, but has to do with a lot of variables such as kill speed, spawn density, tactics, etc....

Where??? Can you point it out?

If they are getting on it now then it is too late... Should have been done BEFORE they published it.

And go look at that thread. FWIW, SOETyrant just posted under your post, and simpliy stated that they WILL fix this. Have faith. I know it's frustrating, but we've made our points here, Bethya's post was actually quite good on the Live thread. Let Owen & Calc & JB & Brisc and others do their jobs. Now is the time to stand fast. If you don't want to group until it is fixed, that's fine. I'll probably only group with my guild... oh wait, that just self destructed... so I'll group with one of the few scouts or rangers I know well and trust, or I'll just continue to solo hunt with my cat. Not really a big change for me either way. If I want to pull much higher lvl missions, I'll hop in a solo group like I've done in the past to get the better / higher level missions.

We've got SOETyrant saying this will be fixed. We've got our corrs working on this. Stand fast.... stay on target... have faith and, in steal a phrase from JB, don't act like a boobiehead. We're all smarter and better than that, let's notlet our posts degenerate to dev-bashing or spamming across all forums likecertain other professions do on every update / publish / post / whatever. We're better than that.

Our guild is mostly a hunting guild with lots of Rangers. We all love to group hunt together but the group penalty was a killer. Now when we group up we will all get the big bonus since we will have multiple MR in the group. This will also help with the teaching of our new recruits since it was painful to hunt with a noob given the harvest penalty for the group and the time it takes for teaching.

Will I group up with strangers, most likely not cause I hate the way some folks hunt. Dragging mobs on top of you and such. If I see some folks out in the wild that seem to know what they are doing and want me to group to get the MR bonus, I probably will. Although I would ask for a cut of the resource harvested.

Here is a suggestion, we should use Ranger chat or post on the forums to have Ranger only groups formed up. When we see fellow Rangers in the wild, we should group up to help each other.

As others have said, Have faith. Owen, Calc, et. al will get our concerns heard. Tiggs asked for testing, we gave results, and both owen and tiggs presented those results to the devs. It may be frustrating to not see the discussions in the public ranger forums, but that's what the correspondents are for -- to represent.

Things have shown up in patch notes that didn't make it into the game exactly as stated since launch. This have shown up that weren't even listed in the patch notes.

This is probably in the patch notes because they were ready to move forward with this publish, and is listed in there as-is. Even if they mean to change it, it's going to be described in it's current state.

I'm maybe not as disappointed, or make that surprised, that the change went through pretty much as described with our views apparently not being taken onboard.

I've worked over on TC for nearly a year and have seen this happen on publish after publish. BUT I also know that the feedback that we put through does go somewhere, that very often there are OTHER changes that have to take precedence and something like the harvest rates can be fixed 'later' with a Hotfix.

The amount of things we report on TC, sometimes for weeks before the publish, that go Live and are fixed in a hotfix a few days later? Yup, I trust them, if it is broke it will be fixed in time.

OTOH, I also know the smugglers have been waiting since the Ark set sail to get their bugs sorted out, so it's a conditional trust

Right, am off to drop some skills and look for an MR to group with...

I will be pleasantly surprised if anything the correspondants can do anything to change things at this point.
