You are well suited to endeavor in to Rangerhood path....

What are we needed for:

- Tracking Krayts
- Tracking for "Hero's Quest" NPC's and critters,
- Actas Faction Base Alarm Systems (early warning system /areatrack players )
- Track critters for Jedi's
- Track Jedi's for BH's (Some do, I refuse) and last (the most obvious)
- Hunt for organic resources.

The pros: It's very easy to be a Ranger and solo. You are less dependent on groups than anyone else (the melee stackers would disagree), and when you hunt, you gain xp in combat, your weapon, scouting, and trapping.

The "Ranger" mystique is definitely there. Cool when you help out a customer or your friends.

The knowledge that nerfing solo groups really hasn't affected you. I was on Lok trying to find gurk king hide for a guild mate, when I got a tell that Lokian herbivore meat was selling nicely. Gurks are herbivores! I love synergy! Tack onto this another customer was paying very nicely for milk. Gurnasets and snorbals both provide milk, and they're herbivores.

Money isn't everything to the ranger, but we do make enough that we don't need it, if that makes any sense

The cons: It took awhile to fill the survival branch, but it was more than worth it to show off the HTFB to my guildmates. I'm also not wild about being asked to help with the Hero of Tat quest (read that as "do the Hero of Tat quest"), but that's me.

Because we can.

In all honesty, I love hunting, IRL and in game. That was draw #1.

Draw #2: I'm a Bothan pistoleer. Seemed to me a waste to let BOTH of my species skill mods go unused (+15 Camo WOO!)

#3 The reactions from very impatient 'uber l337' combat types when I tell them, "No, I've already found the Moisture Farmer 5 times this week, I am not tracking him again for a while."

#4 Helping good friends within the guild with their Jedi grinds. I set up camp on Dathomir, someone brings a dancer out, I bring out Reki the Doc-Bothan and we play with Rancors all night long. I can't count the times Rancs have walked right through that fence and forced me to /rescue the poor dancing girl though.

#5 The utter JOY of heaping trap states upon those %#$@#!@$%^ Gubburs. (I was triple incapped by a Gubbur the first day I played this game, and it is my goal to make their play experience as miserable as mine was. Er, wait, you didn't just read that.)

/edit Yet another reason : Clicky

Hi Rev! Send and in-game tell or email to either myself, Tegai or Irarda. We're the only Antarian Ranger guild on this server (AFAIK). All being well all three of us will be on thisevo (Friday evening).

All the above reasons are why we all love Rangerdom. To be able to explore the more dangerous plaents unbuffed and un-armoured with relative impunity is the best bit IMHO.

THis was actually my second time to Master Ranger. Why, you might ask, well #1 it is because of all of the fun times I have had reading some of the stuff in this forum. Another might be to go out and explore some of the places in the galaxy which few other have seen, or take the time to find. There is nothing like standing on a mountain on the far western border of a planet, no one else around, and just looking to see what you can see. And lastly, which is not so much on my server as in previous days, but the kind of unspoken bound between all of those who have chosen this path to follow. Walking through a starport, receiving a casual nod from another, without even a word spoken, and knowing you have something that few others possess in this game. That is what being a Ranger is all about to me.

Ok guys lemme know why someone would go for master ranger. Spill about the pros the cons, all of it.

If you look at gaining trapping XP, scouting XP, and wilderness survival XP as "grinding," then it is probably not for you. If you enjoy hunting, exploring, camping, and all that goes with it, then give it a shot. Most of us (Rangers) would have it no other way.
