I'm with clac on this one. And I was speaking from a purely asthetic view.

Oh, I know you were speaking aesthetically. Just saying that regardless of looks, we're all mostly equal on the inside .. or something. Perhaps Rodians would be worst off as they have naturally strong, and apparently unpleasant, pheromones that would doubtless betray their position in the wilderness. I'm kind of glad the devs didn't pick up on this, myself :X

Interesting. Nice decor, by the way. There aren't any Rodian-centric paintings are there? Not much of a loot hound, myself.

well... not really, at least, not yet... there are some rodian posters in the game, just go to a theater -one of them translates to "the great rodian!" (or something similar)... there is a bothan painting too, somewhere -it's a landscape with a bothan standing around...

on a funny side note... when my girlfriend started playing she made a rodian... one night we were out playing, and all of us newbs were complaining about the darkness, but sheclaimed to nothave thattrouble... she said she had a "light aura" around her that let her seetoa certain distance... we wereall freaking out, "rodian'ssensors work!!... rodian's sensors work!!"... naturally, we put her at point for all of our night-time hunts...

about two weeks later, SOE released some useful commands for the game, and updated the loading "cards".. that's when we learned that ctrl+L turns on a personal light...

apparently she had accidentally turned her light on at some point... probably in a frantic newbie combat keyboard-smash... heh, we thought it was neat anyway, back when rodian's sensors worked...

Heh...I spent a good week trying to annoy my group mates by using the light as a strobe light. It never seemed to bother them...

Haha, good story. I bet she felt quite useless once the mystery was revealed.

Too bad the sensors don't work, eh?

Well a bowcaster takes both a projectile feed mechanism and a blaster power handle, so it can be made with both a gorax bone and krayt tissue (1 of each). If that is done it can be quite powerful.

If only they did

someday we'll force the devs to make our sensors do something.

Okay, good. Though perhaps they're meant to do nothing, like the Andorians in Star Trek ..

When I had only master artisan, I made a few bowcasters and I was rather surprised with how they turned out. I sold a few on the bazaar and gave one to a female Wookiee that I met. The stats were nowhere near as good as the one I have now (300+ damage) but it's kind of cool that non-weaponsmth Wookiees can make them.

When I'm just running around town, I equip my bowcaster. It comes in handy when I get aggroed by street trash. Plus I love the sound it makes. Every Wookiee should have one. Like many other people, I agree they should be more powerful. That's not to say that one species should have an advantage over any other, but it's unfortunate that the symbolic bowcaster (much like the Wookiee species) is so underpowered. It's little more than a role-playing tool.

since there's a /wookieehug, they need to give us a /rodianhug

i have a macro set up like this:

: gives %TT a Rodian Hug.

then in a thought bubble over my head it says "Oreet gives [target] a Rodian Hug.

I played a Wookie extremely briefly out of curiosity and noticed quite a difference unarmored from my Rodian. They definitely have an advantage there in the beginning, I had very little down-time. Though I suppose it makes little difference later on against the more dangerous denizens of the galaxy.

At any rate, I always admire role-players who stand by less than 'uber' gear for the sake of their character. It's a real sign of integrity.
