Bowcasters... while I was running about on TC checking stuff I picked up a bowcaster off the frog. Non wookiee can equip them, but we are pitifully bad shots with them. Even at Master Rifles I was doing next to no damage
(Try playing a wookiee, or any other race, but only using their own speech. I RP'd a wookiee seperatist for a while. Big grumpy SoB, refused to teach anyone shyriiwook or to listen to them in Basic. HUGE fun)

I'm a bit of a caster nut myself, like Kiryoku. I have a similar looted one, from the Corvette. Something like 350-550 damage, 4.1 speed, 12/22/37 HAM costs. I slapped my anti-decay kit on it and use it as my primary weapon now. With brandy or ahrisa to control the mind cost, it is a very highly effective weapon for unbuffed combat.
The fact that I passed over my *old* pre-nerf 620 max damage T21 to put the anti-decay on a bowcaster probably gives an idea of just how crazy I am for em...
