There will always be something more important than our revamp because we do not cry and whine about it. Other professions that pitch a fit(jedi) get revamps. We are too patient and too nice. I just dont see it happening til about 6 months after the CU/ROTW release. If then....

/sigh

we need to start showing the same tenacity we had with the group bonus fiasco, about our revamp, otherwise it will NEVER get done.

I have full Faith in Owen, but lets face it, he's not exactly Mr. Nasty. and neither are we. I don't want this place to turn into the Jebay forums, but we've got to do something.

otherwise i'm going to be going BountyHunter real soon............

i dunno, maybe im satisfied with less than most... but i thought the fact that we got a huge harvest bonus for Masters, and while grouped is a first positive step. I mean, I can harvest 950 units off of an Ancient Bull Rancor... Makes me smile.

So you guys would rather have angry devs hastily throw together our revamp? Or worse, we get the devs mad at us AND we still ahve to wait. Ask ID's how they feel about their revamp (although much if that revamp has changed through 'fixes'). As DE's how they feel about their revamp. As Jedi how they feel about the new system vs. the old system. Ask CH how they feel about their revamp.

I have been on the inside, and I know how the devs feel about whiners. I know the devs will make things right for us (but I don't know when), and I, for one, will continue to conduct myself with a patient attitude on this issue. I think the worse thing that can happen is getting a quick revamp. Every profession that has goten a quick revamp has gotten hosed by it.

Also, you guys are making assumptions about the CU and no one here has tested it yet. How can you say that Rangers won't be viable hunters since we will have fewer skill points to put into other profs? If we aren't, rest assured that we will make the devs know there is a problem.

We won't need to have medic anymore (there will be stims that non medics can use). We can actually master MORE (different) combat professions than we could before (BH has become available to us to master).

As I always say, predictions are hard to make, especially about the future. But, I can't prevent you from doing what you think is right.

its funny too, because we had a discussion a while back about the utility of having a BH/Ranger template, and it just seemed like it didn't fit right, and now with the CU, we may actually see a use for the BH/Ranger template. Cool. I can't wait. I just wish I could do BH/Ranger/TKM... well, one can always day-dream.

i dont want a 'quick fix', i want something to make me actually believe we'll get a revamp before the year anniversary of the CU.

but, i plan on getting into the TC and testing things out myself.

but i think it's obvious this CU, for the most part, is throwing solo play out the window. no, not entirely, but for the most part. and being a Rifle Ranger, i think i'll be at the most disadvantage because i'll have NO defense. but we'll see.

i think Rifleman will have to have some truly awesome killing power to make up for no defense.....

But, is there anything that devs can to do reassure you that we will get a fix other than actually putting the Ranger Revamp publish out? Frankly, I don't want to be told any deadlines as they will assuredly not be met.

Yay! That's very level headed of you . I do undestand the frustration of not knowing what is going to happen!

no not really anything they can say at all. their 'promises' are worth less than bantha crap to me. what they could DO is put a Ranger Revamp thread in the "In Concept" forum. like smuggler. that would make me feel a little better. The CU will be taking up all the 'In Testing' and 'In Developement' threads, give us an 'In Concept' thread and i'd feel a lot better.

The only probelm with that is, the Smuggler;s are still waiting for their Revamp! I will believe that we get a revamp once it hits the live server. There are just far too many things that can change and I'm certainly not faulting the devs for delays, changes etc, they still have to do what they belive is best for the game and/or the have to do what their bosses want.

Thanks Calc!

Your points are well taken and reflected by many people. I would much rather have a well thought out and creative revamp with the support and help of the ranger community than a hasty revamp that only needs to be fixed in the future.

I am patient and i am having fun with what i choose to do in the game.

^ see, i think this might be a problem. And it mightnot be that rangers are 'too nice', it's actually probably that rangers a too patient.

will you people ever get fed'up? when is the last straw? A line needs to be drawn, or else they'll be telling you 'later' from now until the end of time.

i don't want a 'hasty' revamp, how many times do i have to say it? but it doesn't take a year, or even 6 months to revamp one profession! you realize that it will be weeks upon weeks, if not months before they even start working on us, after the CU. because when the CU goes live, there will be loads of bug/fixes/changes that will be addressed just like every other major patch ever put out.

i refuse to believe, just because of a short string of improvements, that SOE has suddenly 'changed' for the better.

is TC up with the CU yet?

Patience comes when I know that I have no control over the situation.

What good would it do for me to bray, wail and bemoan the poor cruel fate of the rangers? Not much.

Or, I can be a part of the solution in making sure that the ideas of the community are well thought out, organized and clear so that the correspondant, in whom i have complete trust, can present it to the developers.

I can engage in debates, discussions, play devil's advocate, and add my personal ideas to the profession i love.

I can choose to understand that the game is not complete, nor will it be complete a year from now. There will always be changes, additions, subtractions, upgrades and nerfs.

Overall, i care about the fun of the game, and the playability for all the people who want to play it.

Yes, i do get fed up and impatient with the wait, but then i realize that this is not brain surgery, but a video game, and somehow, it gets put into perspective.

Any word on how those stims will work out?

On one hand, they could be made really useful, which undermines medic. Alternatively, they could be made weak enough to make medic relavent, and in which case they'll *probably*(as opposed to certainly before anyone flames me) not be much use in practice.

In the meanwhile, while we maybe be able to go BH/Ranger (which for the record I personally find to be one of the few things I'm looking forwards to trying in the combat revamp), we won't be able to go ranger+combat and have the left over points to dabble in anything else like artisan or medic. That is unless they reduce skill point requirements for ranger, even reducing one point per box, it would be enough for us to still get a basic novice profession. Any hints on them doing that or not?
