Wow! This has plagued me to the point where I never use Take Cover. Ever. Thinking back, I would say that this started happening around the time I trained in novice ranger too.

Geez. I will actually be able to add more info to my /bug reports now. Thanks! I hope everyone else is /bugging this when they come across it too.

i have experienced this to the point where I couldn't even move and logout would not fix it. I found that the only fix for me was to have myself killed. When I respawned at the cloning center all was back to normal. Of course this is a sucky way to get around this problem. I also did not experience it until reaching Novice Ranger.

I don't take cover any more because of this very reason . After you stand up from taking cover your speed is dramatically slower .

Also , the rubberbanding issue plagues me almost every time I go into prone . I get warped back 20 or 30m . EXTREMELY IRRITATING and something I have been posting here lots and lots .

Hopefully it's a known issue at this point , remember to spam the devs with bug reports every time it happens if you got the patience .

I had found that kneeling first solved the problem , but lately even that doesn't work . The only way to prevent this is to stand still for a full 7 second count before you go down into prone . You will notice the landscape " shift " a little tiny bit . Now you can prone without rubberbanding .

NEEDS FIXING PLEASE Correspondent please note .

Thanks

Jon

I think there are enough responses now to know it's not just one or two people, but may as well add my name to the list of victims of this bug. Thinking back on it, I don't recall having the problem prior to Novice Ranger, but I can't be sure. I do know that my friend who isn't a ranger uses takecover with no problem though.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.

TO FIX I DO THIS: TAKE COVER OVER AND OVER. IN BETWEEN COVERS (regardless of fail or not) STAND UP AND SEE IF SPEED IS FIXED. THIS WORKS FOR ME, BUT VERY SLOWLY.

sorry for caps, but I wish someone told me this a long time ago. I HATE this bug.

Guys i am pretty sure I know what is going on...

Are your hotkeys in the SHIFT+ spots on your bar? because there is a bug in the game where if you use a shift hotkey while fighting or doing another activity it holds the shift key in until you press it again. Shift causes your character to WALK.

So simply hit the shift key once whenever you see this happening and you should be fine, or move your hotkey to a non shift spot.

It's not a shift thing. I actually can produce it by typing the command as well. The only way to fix it is to prone and attack another thing then stand again. You'll be back to normal. If you die in that condition you will spawn and be unable to move unless you quit and join again.

I have had this problem also. I walked slowly. I logged out, when I logged back in I was unable to walk/run at all. I tried unstick which did not help. I had a friend kill me and I was stuck in the cloning chamber. I logged out again and after a half hour or so logged in and was able to move. I filed a help request but never got a response.

Add me to the list.. I was only able to resolve it by logging and waiting a half hour..

logged back in and it was normal.. I don't think it was associated with Take cover.. I was underthe impression that it was a Combat move performed against me by a MOB that didnt wear off when I killed the NPC.

still not sure but it definatly is annoying as heck.

I get the rubberband (when crawling), AND the sloow run speed too myself.

But compared to DE, and BH classes I've tried, thats nothin.

I /bugged this, but as usual, the devs have more pressing concerns, that we all know are VERY important. I don't use take cover anymore, which sucks, it's a great skill. I DID find a way to fix it, but it's such a pain in the butt that I just stopped using take cover.

This is how I fix it when it happens

Method 1: I take cover again and again, testing each time, until I'm allowed to run again

Method 2: If there is water nearby, just jump in long enough to swim, it fixes it right away.

Any idea if this is fixed in the big patch on test? I would actually like to use take cover again someday
