Ok, immediately after training novice ranger, if i "Take Cover" and initiate combat, my speed does not reset after i get up, and my crawl speed becomes my new run speed. even tho i am animating running, I am as slow as molasses, and can go even slower if i switch to walk...

There is no in game solution short of relogging that i can find, anyone with similir stories or solutions to share?

I have something similar happen. after I finish combat and I stand up I cannot run, I only walk, the animation is the walk animation, if I press burst run i WALK a little faster but not as fast as normal default run. the only way I can fix this is by logging, but yesterday after relogged i couldn't even move!!!

Anyway I loged out and haven't been on since, i'm too mad about people losing everything ,not being able to move, and not hearing apeep out of SOE to relog for now but we'll see tomorrow

If by a miracle they contact me about the movement problem I'll come back and post about it.

I had this happen to me a while ago, twice actually. What happen both times is I started combat with takecover, and then went into battle. After the battle was over, my run speed was my walk speed, and my walk speed was super slow. I logged off, and logged back on, and then I couldn't move at all. The first time, I created a ticket and waited forever, and finally got it fixed.

Good news, I found a fix. I have 2 computers at home, so I logged off, logged in on my second (crappier) computer, and could move again, normally. Logged off, logged back in on my best computer, and everything back to normal. Don't know if that will help you, but hopefully it will. Customer Tickets I believe stay around for awhile, and rumor has it, they are responding quicker now. So there is hope.

This same thing has happened to me at least 4 times. After it happened once, I just repeated the procees and it fixed it. This only worked once. By the way, when I start a battle with /aim and then /headhshot2 my guy gets rubberbanded back about 10 meters. Does that happen to anyone else?

lol that happens to me everytime i go prone at a range from 55-60 (I'mnot completly sure about the range)

It totally sucks when you are stuck with the walk bug and then you get lunched 20 m back and you have to walk all the way back to your ideal range, then your mask scent breaks, the creature agros, your trap dont work and you try to WALK away from the enemy, whos going to kill you anyway because of the ridicoulus point blank penalty for a rifleman.

Its all good...

I guess i will have to become a creature handler like everyone else. Nah I'll tough it out

This has also happened to me several times. I first experienced itright after attaining Novice Ranger as well. It has only happened to me whenI have used Cover. When I get back up I run slow as a walk.

One thing that I have found that immediately fixes this without logging out is to swim. Once I swim and get out of the water my speed is reset to normal. Clearly there is a bug with what movement state you are in after you Cover since swimming (i.e. changing movement states) fixes the bug's effects. I have /bugged this and informed CS personnel (CSJasonS) about this bug. Whether they will fix it is anyone's guess. In the meantime, if this happens to you, take a swim.

Same, same, same. Had every one of those problems occur with my character tonight, though I didn't know about the possible fix by swimming. CSRStevenS ported me out of the cloning center cylinder (as I had tried to escape being stuck in place by having a friend duel & db me) to the center of the planet map, and from there back to my friend. In a combat shortly after that, the slowed movement happened again, and the CSR told me in the Launcher chat to log out for at least 10 minutes and it should be fixed.

This is encouraging to see it happening to multiple people actually, as that increases the likelihood that it will be analyzed & addressed sooner.

Well, we are all having the same problem definately, glad to hear its not just me,

The Aim throw back happens to me too. I suspect your thrown back to the position you were at a fixed number of seconds ago, rather than a distance as the amount your thrown back increases when your running in.

The swim fix for perma-snare doesnt work for me ... i was soo hopeful too .. relogging still my only option... so much for take cover skill

I have, it happened to me once. I am not sure what triggers it. Exit game and relogin to fix

I am a victim of this as well.

If I /logout instead of just quitting, the problem still exists when I log back in. So if you do have this problem, dont /logout, just quit.

I think I know what the rubberbanding issue is, and it doesn't have anything to do with /aim, because it happens to me all the time (and I don't use /aim).

Whenever it happens, it seems to be shortly after I go prone. IIRC, the first time I ran into this was shortly after a patch that was supposed to fix problems where you attempted to loot a corpse or heal an incapacitated player and were told you were out-of-range, even if you were standing on top of them.

The out-of-range looting bug, while it was around, appeared to be happening because the client thought the corpse was somewhere other than the server thought it was. Don't know if anybody else remembers this, but you could get around it sometimes by hunting in various directions (whatever direction the mob was running) and trying to loot from there.

My suspicion is that code was added to the game to force player/NPC position to sync with the server under certain circumstances. Thus, when an NPC dies, sometimes the corpse seems to jump a few feet in some direction, presumably placing it at its "real" position on the server. I think that players going prone is triggering this same fix. Player position is trusted to the client, to an extent; my guess is that going prone is similar enough to going incapacitated that the server decides it had better drop you in the last position it confirmed you were in, so your teammates could revive you or something.

Kneeling for a few seconds before going prone seems to help me avoid this issue. I suspect that since you can't move while crouching, the server accepts your position from the client and fixes it when you kneel.
