Holy crap! I didnt know these were real. Cuz I've heard of them but everyone said they werent in the game. How long have these been in game? Or is this one of the first sightings? I'm officially hanging out on Endor until I at least see one. I shall have plenty of beer to give me something tokeep me busywhile I walk around.

They were around on and off since launch. You used to be able to get a mission for them but they were quite easy back then. They took them out, made them hard, and have recently put them back in. They are quite hard to find, though.

If you guys go looking for one of these, look for the big pack of hanadak drifters. They were all over when we were fighting it, getting in the way (and killing me, since I'm so wimpy). The gorax seemed to want to stay in that general area too. After he killed me the first time, he went straight back to this little mountain, and just stood there. While I was dead, I saw a couple remmers get close, and he killed them then went back to his mountain. I'm naming this area "Gorax Country," and I'm going back tonight, to see if there's another one. I'm currently working on a gorax webpage with all the stats and screenshots, I'll keep you posted.

On a few dev tests before they re-introduced it on live, some of us on Test Center got a chance to face off against the Gorax. The Gorax is like Endor's version of an Ancient Krayt Dragon. Its resists are a bit lower than an Ancient Krayt(I want to say 75% across the board) but its HAM is Ancient Krayt level and it does more damage than a Krayt, a lot more damage if I recall correctly.

From Image Dump images (post fix, pre fix was electricity vulnerable):

Heavy Armor
Special Resists:
Kin 65%
En 45%
Effectiveness:
Bla/Stu/Res/Heat/Cold/Acid/Ele 35%
No vulnerabilities

HAM is in the 450k range.

Aggressive: Yes
Stalker: No
Tamable: No
Deathblows: Yes
Ferocity: 20
Difficulty Level: 300
Special Attack 1: Unknown Attack
Special Attack 2: Force Strike
Base To-Hit: 30.0
Damage: 1645-3000

Not quite Ancient Krayt level. But a decent challenge. I'd like to try and see how it compares to the krayts but I can never seem to find one. The actual stats are similar but the Gorax trades resists for HAMs (Krayts have higher resists, probably making poisons/etc more effective). My very cursory calculations would put it at about 30 minutes for a well equipped rifleman using /concealshot (15 using strafeshot2). An ancient is closer to 2 hours of /concealshotting. But those are very rough calculations (the ancient is from memory--it's very annoying to get no loot after all that work).

Thanks Nemo.

Ack, 450k ham and heavy armor sounds like it would take a long time to kill.
