They need to have mission terminals that just give you a credit every time you push a button. I think that would be LCD enough for everyone, lol.

It isgreedy to expect someone to have to look for something to complete an explore mission? OK, you have a point, I'm just not sure what it is.

Yeah those missions are not working. There are no waypoints even though they are destroy not recon missions. I noticed they were marked in the map but every mission at least for me was near Keren even though I am in Kaadara. I head over there and the waypoints disappear. So yeah I have to say this patch right now pretty much stinks.

I beleive the missions where you kill what ever is at the waypoint were on the old terminals, maybe its just me though

These explore missions suck, killing 45 mobs for the same amount I could have gotten in 3 minutes on a baz nitch camp just last week? Yes I kow that was maybe a bit overpowered but I always thought games would get easier as they go along, now it would suck to be a newbie starting out, easy ways to kill mobs and get money are all nerfed, poor bastards !

I read earlier today that on the map you get a "white" triangle (somewhat of a waypoint on the ctrl V option), but that seems to just give you a "whereabouts" as to where you might find those animals at that time.

If that's the case then I think it would be working as intended.... It gives you a "general" area to <cough> explore <cough> rather than the whole planet.

I wouldn't expect to get a waypoint for every animal I killed (imagine having to kill 30 gurreks and your radar get slammed with orange arrows)

The mission also does give you a general direction to head. I took 2 explore missions that the terminal said were around 11k to the NE. I'm not sure how far I traveled, but I found a couple of lairs for each mission in the direction it listed.

Between picking off the critters that were already spawned and doing the one shot to the lair to spawn more, I was able to complete one of the missions. Going to work on the second one tonight.

I hope logging and coming back later will allow us to continue working on a previous mission. I also like the idea of not having to worry about running all the way to a waypoint just to see someone already killing the lair of a mission you received.

This allows me much more freedom. No more running back and forth to the city (I hate cities) just to make some cash. I can take two high payoff missions, and spend the entire evening in the wilderness exploring

Tracking would be awesome. If it was a limited radius you'd still have to "explore" quite a bit. But as it stands...I'm puzzled by these missions. Unless they are planning to change the spawn and that hasn't kicked in yet, i don't know how to find Hermit Guards and Sentries, for example, without also taking a lair quest or just picking random lairs that may or may not be someone else's mission. And then, when I tried a lair, I got the queen but no guards or sentries. Hrm. I circumnavigated Theed and found nothing.

This new mission type I think is there for people who went out hunting. For many scouts/rangers, they wouldn't do missions. They would go out and try and hunt a specific type of animal and harvest there hide/bone/meat. The joy/fun, was to go out and kill stuff.

Now, you can do that for money. Have you heard of variety. People like to go hunt stuff every now and then, when they are tired of the destroy mission cycle. Is it the most efficient ratio of time vs. money? probably not, but is it fun? depends on the time and person.

Now for some advice, if you want to do these missions. Go to an explore mission terminal, pick out an animal you would like to hunt. Then go to the mission terminal next to it, and select a destroy mission, with that animal. It will help you reach your quota.

You know that the best explanation I've heard yet. I just didn't get why these new missions were any good. But your logic works for me.

I was having a problem in that if I was DB by an animal before finishing the explorer mission the waypoint would dissapear from the map screen. Also I noted in the database screen that when you started the mission it was at 1, but if you were DB, the mission woulddrop to 0 and lose way point.

Has any one else seen this.

Earthshreader, Yes I experienced the exact same thing.

However I think the Waypoints are meaningless. I strarted a mission and notice the waypoint was the center of the map. 0,0 I was running there and stopped to kill some critter, non mission realted that caught my eye. When the battle was over I noticed I was still under attack by some Thug that was nearby. Well nasty fellow death blowed me and pop I was back at the cloning center.

I said the heck with running way back to center of the map. I canceld the mission I had, which changed from a 1 to 0 and got a new mission. This new mission also had a waypoint at 0,0 the center of the map. Thus I think the waypoint on the map is meaningless. I went in the general direction the mission said and found a lair of Eppies as per the mission. I had to kill 15 of them. When I had killed 8 of them I noticed it said on the screen "You have to kill 7 more to complete your mission"

So as others have said, I think you just get the mission, head in the general direction it gives you but to complete the mission you have to kill x number of x critters to finish. I like this since it makes it more like real hunting. I think if you heading in any direction, as long as you kill x amount, you win.

My question is if the mission says kill 15 Womp rats do you have to kill 15 that are called excatly Wompat Rats or can you kill a Greater Womp Rat, Wompat Rat Baby, Mutated Womp Rat etc and still get credit?

I am not too sure about the mission number going from 1 to 0.

But it does have to be EXACTLY what the mission says, no variances there upon. Which is kinda cool. I took a violent krahbu mission fro kor vella lastnight. I had to kill 30 of them. I headed the "general direction" of the center WP, and cam across a violent krahbu lair. I took down all 30 at that lair. Killing what was around, then shooting the lair until more spawned in.

Later, on Naboo by theed, I took a Veermok mission. Heading to the center WP and saw NOTHING. No matter which direction I went from the WP or how far off the "path" I headed on the way to and from the WP. I saw no veermoks. I cannot recall, ever, seeing any veermoks on naboo in my explorations. Maybe I am just not looking hard enough?
