Thread: Ranger correspondent feedback
Just dropped all my unwanted marksmen skills (was working to BH but forget that lame class full ofchildren) and came back to ranger.
I can't wait for the tracking feature ![]()
This might have been addressed elsewhere in this thread, but I didn't see it: Will the tripwire (which works against NPC's) work against pets/faction pets?
Tripwire - The tripwire trap can be laid against NPCs as well as creatures. A target who runs across the tripwire will be knocked on his back for a short time.
This new addition is FANTASTIC!!! I actually thought about changing my profession until now.
I have a question though. I understand that there will be a command to "Eject" a person from your house. What about camps? The other day my guild was doing a raid on aRebel base; the problem we found was when our entertainer was healing our mind wounds, the rebels came into the camp and started healing their wounds as well. Although it was benifical to me to have 24 people in my camp, it wasn't helpful at all when it came to killing the Rebels.
Are there any plans to allow rangers to "eject" people from their camps?
To Sneakybothan:
I had heard that they will be changing the XP requirements of all four trees to 20k-30k-50k-70k. This helps Frontiering which is at 20k-k-60k-80k (less meaningless camping - YEA!), but will increase the XP needs of the other three branches, which are at 10k-20k-30k-40k.
While it may look painful, it is the right course of action for two reasons:
1) The profession is about to get far more attractive to players with all the new additional powers.
2) Currently, it is way too easy to advance up the skill tree of Ranger. Even with the increases it will be easier to achieive Master Ranger than most of the other Master Elites.
The change hasn't taken effect yet, but will most likely take effect along with the first Ranger skill upgrades.
If anyone has heard more please (or heard corrections) please fire back.
To Holo:
You are the MAN! I'm soooo happy I didn't change to CH likeeveryone was telling me to. Few people had faith in the Ranger class, and not many understood why I would want to be a Ranger (except my fellow Rangers, of course). I wanted to be a Ranger simply because the profession fit my playstyle and personality, but I am jumping for joy about the additional skills. Finally, we are more than over glorified scouts!!!

I agree. I advance three times as fast in Ranger as I do in swordsman.
Very Nice, and finally read almost the entire thread.
A few changes I would like to see if possible...
A noticeable resource gain in harvesting... it is slim in comparrison to a master scout.
As I saw previously mentioned - perhaps a swimming speed boost, or burst run recharge decrease and/or time boost.
Traps that effect not only Creatures, but Npcs... possibly PvP creatures and players in the future. (off of that; grenades and flash traps/other traps having AE effects on friend or foe to make it more realistic.) Also traps that do not aggro a creature or perhaps a greater range.
Masked Scent or Camo also working against BEF mobs and NPC mobs... It seems kinda lame that the creature we shoot at doesnt notice me, but the 5 around him spot my location right away and charge.
It is really great to see positive changes happening, and hopefully all the classes get bonuses (god I know the whole Entertainer Line(image designer specifically)needs some perks cause I was one for a long while). Thank you for the post Raph.
Gronch,
Dude - it's not even been out a week. ![]()
We don't know. And the Ranger dev is on vacation so I would wait at least two or three weeks before we start asking for updates.

Hmmmm, dev's should not be allowed to go on vacation, they should be chained to their computers like the women where to the stove some 100 years ago, i'm all for female rights and equality, but dev's should not have any right, they are here to serve us like slaves.

What i've read here all seems very nice if just some of it get put into the game i will be one happy camper, erhm i mean ranger.
These new changes are great for our profession, but it seems crazy to me to spend 15pts to become a Novice Artisan, just so that I can harvest Flora for my camo-kits.
It would seemlogical as a Maseter Ranger that when I "Forage", that I am able to choose whether I want to forage for food, or for the materials I need for my camoflauge kits.
I can understand not being able to forage for metal, but flora is an organic material, it would seem logical that I would be able to find it out in the wilderness with my knowledge as a Ranger.
I guess what I am trying to say is, would it be possible to either A) Allow a possibility to collect "flora" while foraging, or B) When I choose to "forage" I get a menu asking me what I would like to "forage" for. (I.E. Food, Flora, Water and other ORGANIC materials.)
