see u disagree with that if you do carbines and rifles yah minuswell add pistol because then pistol would be the only one without one and you cant have the ranger be a master in all weapons so i think the devs just need to pick one weapon and stick with it besides pistol if more close combat

Bah screw carbines. What is the point of limiting us like that?

Ex-Ranger here....
I am looking forward to the changes made in Ranger. I dropped Ranger after 7 months of the profession in order to work on a PvP template. With these new changes, I look forward to putting the cammo on once again. Every ex-Ranger, no matter why they left the prof., still gets a little sad when they pass by a Ranger Camp.....
I'll have to re-read the posts and understand its going to scouts, but did they somehow make camps a more necessary feature???

I suggest the pre-req be Scout+Brawler 4xxx or x4xx.... Ranger really seems to me to be an unarmed or 1 handed (AkA Survial Knife) sort of proff.
Finally looks like we will get an update though!

tbh i see rangers with rifles or a sidearm pistol
so i think the pre-req should be ranged support so they can use any ranged weaponandone branchin scout
rangers are still scouts, just a more advanced one, scout use stealth to gather information, and according to this so do rangers i still think at least 1 branch has to stay in scout

To one of the misinformed posters above:
I disagree that if the SW Ranger is supposed to be an elite soldier, that thievery would be above them.
The idea of a SW Ranger, as an elite soldier, is as areconnaisance soldier. Reconnaisance soldiers are highly trained to be self-sufficient behind enemy lines while putting "eyes and ears" out on the enemy.
There are examples of modern-day forces teaching resourcefulness on the battlefield to stay alive. Thievery, if required, is not above them and is in fact trained for (a la Pineland in Army SOF training, where that may become involved.)
Heck, even the Spartans expected their young apprentices to steal to eat as they were nearly starved otherwise. They just couldn't get caught doing it, or face a near-death beating. Teaches you how to be resourceful.
War does not equal honor. Please wipe from your mind that it has any place on the battlefield, it'll just simply get you killed.
I think the SW Ranger model is looking pretty sharp. Now only if the Correspondent would get on harassing the devs for more answers or word on progress.
