Thread: Web based graphical city planner/mapper tool
Bajeesus can you perhaps make arrangements for this thread to be made a sticky or even have this tool put on the main swg site ?
WOW. Well done...
I just have one request would it be possible to make it doanloadable since i dont really like working on a oline website. I allways fear something will go wrong.
You can access this page by clicking on the ? below the palette, or just go directly there.
I would like to get feedback on the instructions, as well as the tutorial. Was it easy to follow, were you able to produce the same results, is anything confusing, etc.

Anyone tried the cartography tutorial yet?
Tiaga, Congratulations, this tool is awesome, and will prove invaluable when planning out my city.
I have a suggestion though, perhaps you could figure a way to implement it... real-time drawing of the map.gif or .png
I'll use, for example, my current map, which I have done with PSP7 and Dreamweaver, which can be found at http://mg.web-cites.com/I use seperate layers for seperate interests (buildings, coordinates, names, limits, lot numbers, etc) The map is at a resolution of 12 pixels per 8m (3px:2m) I use a seperate image for the background, and a seperate image for the buildings... if I could change the buildings online, using your site, and somehow import it into my layer as an image... without having to save the image, it would be useful.
An idea would be calling either a JS function or a perl script that could be called from a remote site. On deeper thinking though, I realise that this would only work if the map details were stored on your server, and accessed via a file or account name.
Also, the Corellia/generic cantina has a different shape, but the same footprint.
