I'm not sure I follow.. Something different than what the "Save Map" button does?

I use it now for the map I take care of. It only takes me abouta minute to import the graphics into the appropriate layer and create the new composed maps. The tutorial I wrote up even covers how to use The Gimp (A free photoshop like program) to create such an easily updated graphical map.

I get this question all the time. Unfortunately, I play a neutral, so I have absolutely no experience at all with faction bases. If someone wants to sponsor the addition of faction structures, I will need enough faction points to join your side on your server, as well as a deed (or whatever equivalent) for one of each of the faction structures to be able to place. I'll put them wherever you want, but I'd like to place them myself.

how does this help you to make them avable int the "tool"...i mean if you need to i can just make you some in AI.....

i must be missing somthing....still cool thoe

I'm a puny politician, so can't help you with all the faction buildings, but if you contact me on Wanderhome, I'll give you enough faction to join up and a minefield and covert scanner to play with if you like. While there, you can at least have a look at our base and get a picture of that too, if it helps.

The reason I'd want to be able to place them, is I understand their footprint is different when placing than it is once they are down. I'd want to find out what it looks like. The other part is I really know nothing about faction perks. I don't even know how many different bases there are. If it's only two then I've already got the art for them. Assuming rebel and imperial bases are the same, that is. So I'd just need the footprint part answered.

Do all faction perks have the same size round footprint?

Yes, that error is when it's trying to create the new structure for you to place.

However, it doesn't help me without knowing what browser and version. Think you could post that here?

I won't promise anything however. The code it's having a problem with is comforming to W3C DOM standards. If your browser doesn't implement it, there may be other things it doesn't do as well. You might want to make sure you're using the latest version. Alternatively, I'd recommend Mozilla Firebird.

* I am pretty sure it will not work in IE before5.5 or in Netscape before version 5. Not sure what the minimum version of Opera would be, but I have heard Opera 7 works.

Just decided to do a little investigating, and I'm going to guess you are using IE based on the error... You'll need at least version 5.5, or you could download Mozilla.

Yep, it's 5.5...but the credits say it's a "cutomized" version of it...so it's entirely possible it won't work here at work (**edit** corporate attys....argh)

My offer still stands, if you want to place a covert scaner and a minefield for research.

I will keep it in mind. To be honest though I suspect people want bases more. As I understand it covert scanners and minefields are fairly easy to get. So I'm going to wait until I learn more about bases.

Awesome tool!! 100/10

Just one question that may have already been answered: Are each of the different shaded green circles supposed to represent the different city growth rates at each rank? I hope so because I am basing my entire city off of this factor. And if that's what it represents, is the lightest shade of green circle, the rank you start out with in a City? I have started constructing our city on Lok and using this tool to set everything up to maximize city growth and zoning space. I am basing the first phase of our city growth on the lightest shade of green circle (the very first circle in the center) and I just wanted to make sure that this is accurate so that I don't have to move everything closer towards the center and the City Hall. I started out by placing a City Hall in the center of the map on the dark green area and then placing our Guild HQ and barracks towards the outer perimeter of the light green circle radius. Please just confirm that each radius is intended for each city rank growth.
