Thread: Player Cities Update
TH, what I think he is saying is that the city center has moved so much that they are in danger of the public city buildings ending up outside the city and hence being destroyed automatically. Some have said that their CITY HALL is about to go outside the city limits, which means it will be lost.
This is not just a matter of picking things up and moving them, if it involves the City Hall itself, at least as far as I know. Yes, you can pick up and move anything else, but not the city hall (unless there is some grace timer involved with that.) I would assume that picking up the city hall would negate the city and the other structures would become invalid and poof also (not player houses or guild halls, but everything else).
How is this patch going to deal with town halls that disappeared? In our case we had plenty of citizens, over 60, the mayor did not delete the hall and he did not get any emails stating we lost citizens.
I would also like to know about the borders as asked above. Thanks,
Okroom-Tal Vella, Corellia, Starsider
Ok, for the missing city and anyone loosing lots of residents, please post and Ill look into it:

What about those of us who are on the verge of losing out cities due to this bug?
Please describe what's happening. Is it because you arent going to have enough people this vote?
I think for some player cities there 'border' has moved so far that the edge is coming close to the city hall.... the idea is that if the city hall gets to be outside of the 'border' then it will poof...
No need to reinvent the wheel or delay a solution waiting for new data, TH ... consult this thread:

Ok heres ours, i think there was one on Bria also:
Server: Starsider
Planet: Corellia
City Name: Tal Vella
Issue: Town Hall, Bank and Cloning center disappeared Wednesday morning. The area where the town hall was can't be built on now and people who cloned at the cloning center still clone where it was. Mayor is Varick.
Thanks! Okroom, master smuggler
Well its not an issue yet. Since we try keep the city tight but...Our city have moved about 60m now to one side.

It´s kinda scary, the city is now what..3-4 weeks old. And there is 2 weeks or more to the fix. Means we can get to pass the 100m range moved. I just got told today my structure factory left the city, tho it´s 220m from the city hall. And the city is rank 3 with 300m radius.
Planet:Talus
City Name:Tyronis
Issue:
We lost our City Hall somewhen wednesday.
I checked treasury the day before and there were still about 90k in it. (more than enough for a couple of weeks)
As it is now, we lost all the treasury, the CH, the xp our major would have gotten.
All of us submitted a CSR ticket, but somehow I have the feeling we won't get anything back.
It was quite a small city and our houses were build around the "edge" of our city to keep the mid free for future projekts.
We had an Architect to rebuild the City Hall and placed it EXACTLY where the old one was, however now a few houses were out of the city limit.
So I guess we lost the city either because there were not enough ppl in the city (due to the shift), or the center shifted so far that the hall wasn't in the city anymore.
Thanks for your input everyone. I understand there is some more pain here than we accepted. I will take this data and see what we can do.

The center of player cities is migrating slowly, but only about 2 meters every48 hours.
Hold on a sec... that is 1 meter a day. If the city hall is in the CENTER of a city at first, and the city migrates 1 Meter a day... it will take a heck of a long time for the hall to wind up on the outside, looking in.....
(Radius = 125 Meters.... at level 1...{I think})
Thats the problem Im trying to get balanced here.
also, PLEASE answer the sever city problems here.
For city drift with minimal impact, the change is on test and will be on live very soon. The fix for cloning centers in test for the publish. We wanted to hotfix too, but if we hotfixed to those game systems, there is a chance we would have made things worse, so hotfixing is not an option.
If there are extreme problems such as a missing city, dozens or hundreds of players drops, then please let me know here.
Thanks.

Not 2 weeks. Much sooner. I dont have an exact day yet, but very soon.

I wouldnt say we think this is trivial. There is a different perspective from what devs see and what you see and its my job to bring those two persepctives. If you bring the information to me, I will bring it inside, which I have.
TH, the problem is that the Devs don't seem to see what is going on in the game.
Think about how the player city cap was reached in minutes - yet you and the Devs professed you didn't see it coming.
These new /citywarn changes? How can you in any good faith say you didn't see what was going to happen?
These issues just keep happening - and proves that a) the Devs are very out of touch with the players, how they play the game, and what they enjoy, and b) that the players are not being listened to.
These /citywarn things were predicted the moment the design went up for public viewing.
You have to understand that patience only lasts so long.
The Devs really need to wake up and prioritize based on what players need/want.
We are trying desperately to have fun - while the Dev team wastes time putting system in-game, taking them out, and messing around with things that don't enhance the enjoyment of SWG, just make it more tedius and about the opposite of fun.

Here is the thing. We didnt' loose anything because we wisely put all Player city items in the middle. I'd rather not post the city info until we reach shuttle port size. but all towns shifted at least 25 meters. In our case this but 25 meters more of out city in the mountains. We are already stapped for the space with current landscape for 55 citizens in the 350 meter range. We did this on purpose because of an issue we had, which is why i dont want to list city specifics right now. It is pretty bad that you have no way to move the town hall and get the bubble to readjust.
