Hold on, Plink . . . address this, don't just unsticky it. (And if she's posting while I am I appologize in advance.) This was downright rude and insultive, making fun f those who you voluntarily chose to represent, and stickying it was an abuse of your moderative abilities. You asked for it, deal with it. What do you have to say to those who posted in the thread you started?

Just because the drama queens got their panties in a bunch when you were devil's advocating is no reason to be calling for your resignation.
I swear, people on these boards are so **edit** touchy lately...it's not worth it.

As I play on live and in Plinka's city on test center I find your statement to be incorrect,I see zero difference in the play style. I would love to know what you do that is so different from what we do on test center, one example ishave you seen what happends when you remove maintaince from a city hall and have it be destroyed, and its effect on other city buildings and player structures? We have. Please let us know what things you feel are not being addressed on test center and if we have not done it, we will.
Took Alot
City of Skystone/Tatooine on test center
Master Doctor/Trickshot
Tracy
Master Ranger/Pistoleer on Naritus
The difference is that people play on live servers for the purpose of playing, not testing. People are much less likely to grief on a test server than they are in a live server, simply because they (for the most part) know what they are there for. People who go to a test server to be a jerk usually do not last long, because the population base that they need to spread havok just is not there to horse around with. People also do not tend to exploit as much on a test server, because they report it and move on, knowing that most exploitscould get reversed, so there would not be as much to gain as there would be on a live server. I just don't have the time to spend both on Live and Test here, or I would be there much more often, but I've been in several Beta tests and played Test on DAoC and UO, so I do know what I'm talking about in this regard.
The risk inherrent of having a Correspondent whose home server, and in this case city, are on Test is that they COULD BE, note I did not say "are", prone to saying "well, it's not like that here, they must be dramatizing". In the case of /warn, trust us, we're not.
But anyways, it still stands that its very easy to forget or brush past the day to day playing of the game if you're not playing it "in the real world".

First of all the post by Plinka is a pathetic attempt at manipulation - lay in a set of groundless complaints which cannot be substatiated and therefore will deflect and valid critisism.
Second there is some wierd view in this forum that /Citywarn is purely in the domain of the Politician. Actually is the Militia who use this function, andthey comprise a wide array of professions. All Militia are affected by this (as well as the Politicians who are governing their city) and therefore the debate is a wide one.
If I am asked to do a job by the politician as a member of the Militia I epect to be able to act. If I cannot I have no purpose being in the Militia and perhaps the role I wished to play within the city is also now non-existant.
My guess is that those joining the Militia did not join up to hand out leaflets to visitors. Without the Militia, politicians have no teeth, no muscle, no law. This is a lawless galaxy.Murder is a perfectly acceptable way of resolving a dispute over the colour of ones shoes! However it seems that violence is not acceptable to enforce rules and regulations put down by an elected official.
How odd.

If we had rotating corespondants, then we'd always have a novice in position that was inexperienced and ineffective with the job. Plus, corespondants SHOULD play on TC so they can see, feel, and get to know the issues we will be dealing with in the future. Remember, what we see is almost always was has been seen on TC. Everything must pass through TC before it goes to Live
Being a novice also means you bring a fresh perspective, and it means that the Devs hear a variety of opinions and approaches, not just one.
That's why as far as I know, rotating all Correspondents has been the SOE plan from the start. I'm not suggesting anything that they haven't already said they intended to do.
Also, while I agree completely that Correspondents should play on Test Center part of the time so they know what's coming, that does not mean that they need to be a Test Center Mayor. For one thing, there are Correspondent Terminals on TC that will let them borrow the skills they need to check stuff if necessary. But most of all, now that Cities are out of the "packing crate," the emphasis shifts from verifying the nuts-and-bolts mechanics of the Politician trade, to much more subtle and wild issues of dynamics, balance and player behavior. And here the Live Mayor has a decided edge.
LMAO!!!! Great post Darling......At least our correspondent has a sense of humor....
Your doing a fine job in my book...Keep it up..
Happy Trails
Whoever signs this must not visit the politician forums unless they have a problem, Plinka is the greatest! Don't think so well read this....

can we vote PLINKA out?
Well there could be a petition for a new corespondent. After all I thought a corespondent wasn't allowed to have an opinion, just suppose to pass on the opinions of their players.
Hehe, funny.
I'm sure another correspondent would find this funny, since SOE has forgotten that the correspondent role was supposed to be changed monthly so those that abuse power or become entrenched in their thinking would give way to fresh blood.
I find it funny because I get to see everything Plinka says and does on the corr forum and voting her out would be like gnawing your own head off because your foot was stuck in a trap.
While I do appreciate the time hit you are taking for OUR sake (as well as having to endure various attacks on your person for OUR sake), this post and a few others of your latetly communicate a "holier-than-though" attitude.
Your wording of your above reasons almost implies that the rest of us ARE NOT doing those things as well -- I am not saying that is what you INTENDED to communicate, but that message does come across.
Once again, I want to thank you for your time invovled, but I am of the growing opinion that the stands you are taking are making you a less and less productive correspondant.
To reiterate the advice of one of the prior posters "To date, you are doing a great job, but reign in the ego a bit."
