If you really don't want to lose your city once they are in range Tax them enough to buy a city hall, and a day before the elections tear down the hall and put it back up as a new city.

Yea im an exploiter lol. Never used one in my life. But these guys come on here and make a post about how bad they are etc etc and they are going to grief some poor group out of existance. I simply printed what is public knowledge to anyone who has attempted to decorate their city hall. So Boo-Hoo all you want. I wasnt the first here to post that information, I read it here. It needs to be fixed asap...that being said...You think becasue you have more people you have the right to walk all over others. If this were Shadowbane, for example, their would be ways of fighting back...recruiting allies, massing around the TOL, holding key towers killing the porters etc etc. What gets me riled is there IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to defend against this kind of attack. That simply is unfair. Sure in any other game they might loose, but at least they had the opportunity via tactics and diplomacy to win. And yes, people with your attitude sicken me to the point where i made that post. Use such tactics, and people smarter then I im sure will come up with new ways to counteract your little plots.

Its like the whole AT-ST conversing thing...never did it, never allowed it to be done. However, it was a tactic, a cheap and illegal tactic...to counteract the overwhelming imbalance that existed at the time. This is a very similar situation. And until something is done, expect more such cheap and underhanded tactics to be employed by desperate players agaisnt griefing punks high on testosterone and enamored by the size of their own cajhones.

There sure as heck is a way to defend! It's called USE THE GAME MECHANICS LIKE ITS MENT TO BE USED! Recruit people into your city. Join forces with other, smaller PAs. As folks to come settle in your city and help fend off a rival political faction. Your suggestions are pure griefer tactics and you and folks of your ilk make me furious. The game doesnt exist for your sole pleasure. If that's what you want, go get a single player RPG. This is the realm of political conflict, not military conflict. If I was able to besiege them and seize their city, I'd do my best to try. Since it's not the way this conflict is intended, I shall vote them out.

I honestly DOUBT Aloud or whatever his name is took a city over. And if he did, whatever. But you cant ban the others and its funny because if you did kick them out you would go down past 10 and lose city. Anyways whatever I personally dont think its right but its fact it can happen. Why you make sure to get miltia up and I knew the command to ban people from city hall so people should know these things. Besides I hate cities who would only have 10 people anyways. If they didnt plan on growing that is.

But whatever it happens so get a new city when cap is lifted.

I'm sorry, I have to step in here.

One can argue about game mechanics all they want, taking one stand or another, but putting down another person for their side of an argument is flat out uncalled for.

I've known Aldroud in game for about three years now, and I cannot stand to see him flamed against. Someone called him a little kid. Aldroud gave years of his life serving as an officer in the United States Army. Serving in Bosnia and running Training Camps in the US, he built up a record of service that more than qualified him for his next venture: the ORCS.

He came to UO and built from the ground up the largest and most respected roleplaying guild on Atlantic Shard in Ultima Online, indeed one of the most respected guilds onall of the shards. At our height, ORCS had **edit** near 200 members, arranged in a well-organized hierarchyheaded by a brilliant leader. Together we shared some of the most fun gaming we had ever participated in.

Anyways, my point is, don't judge the man or his organizations. We (ORCS) are merely trying to stir up some purpose in a game that we feel is severely lacking. Sorry if I embarassed you, Aldroud; I will end my little diatribe.

What makes it fair is there are ways to stop it. If you do not have enough people to control a town after you place, its your own fault for losing it. They put a cap on the towns so can only be so many per planet. Personlly I think its kind of griefing to place your own with 5 people so that the guild with 60 can't place.

No one OWNS a town, its made up of who lives theres. If one group has twice as many people as the other, why should they be forced to follow them? You control who can place within your city, you can control the town hall. The defending group clearly has the advantage in keeping control. If they are unable to keep control they shouldn't have the town in the first place. Just because you own a town doesn't mean you own everything 500m around your town. They can stay small but if they grow and suck other players houses into their town and then the players vote for someone else, it is not griefing.

Ow there is a simple solution one member drops the house wala, no growth now it becomes a waiting game

The question is who shall prevail, That little community that really doesnt need to grow, or that power hungry pa dieing to sink there fangs.

Awwww... isn't that special. You think that just because someone dreamed of a city, they are entitled to one? Well then... man... the devs are the BIGGEST griefers of all!

BigTimDog, what's with the personal attacks?

If a small group of players want to make a town, then they better be quite clever in order to keep a larger group out. They don't own a town. They can vote for a mayor, but every week, they have to "reclaim" control over the town. That's the way the system is set up. No one is entitled to a town. Especially on a planet where only TEN are allowed.

Grow up.

Update: Okay, the Outpost expanded to include all our member's with their besieging houses. Now we are fully qualified (and vote eligible) citizens. First thing we did was get our mayor candidate on the voting terminal, then we all lined up to vote. The vote tally is now 34 to 23, with some more members of ours yet to vote. Our plans are on track and progressing most satisfactry.

Bravo Aloud!!!

Anything to overtake the Rebel Scum!!!

Tactics like this are required due to the GROSS imbalance in the GCW with rebs 2-1 or 3-1 outnumbering Imps (Guess eveyone wants to be like that whinney punk Luke LOL). We had the same problem on our server with all the Rebels out there Naboo filled up quick on our server, so we went to another planet.

In reality if numbers were as they should be in this game the Rebs would be using this tactic.

Just because you dropped a city you dont Own it and as it should be the Emipe will own it soon enough!!

Aloud,

Was thinking ....are you still planning on destroying the City hall ? I ask cause with all of the people waiting to put city halls down and the new changes there is a small chance you might lose you city all together.

Some guild who reallys wants a City Hall they might have someone constantly trying to put one down . With all the new rules there is a chance some current Outpost will fail because they dont have 10 people.

Just throwing that out Good luck with your plans.

As an observer, I think that that is highly unlikely.

No guild no matter how dedicated has someone sitting there constantly clicking the city hall deed hoping that they catch the split second that an outpost disappears.

The tactic of a targeted mayor simulaneously destroying his city hall and having a second deed dropped 1km away is unstoppable. He would require a second politician to insure success.

Remember the PAs that you are talking about here are the ones that weren't able to get a city hall down to begin with. I doubt they have the dedication to have a player sit there full time and try to catch lightning.

Just my opinion.
