Thread: Player Cities Update
Audio what the point of you post? The mans here, hes listening. Why don't we keep a place where its not hard to come and read post. I don't see how rubbing the Dev nose in it helpsat all.
You said I told you so, now lets all pulltogether and make it work.
Maybe Audio's posts share the same viewpoint of quite a few more such as myself. If these items (cities and new vendor code) had been thouroughly tested on test server we wouldn't be in this mess to begin with. Heck they would have saw the vendor problem if they would have had the code for more than 14 days on test...saving the huge problem they have now. But instead of using test center to fully test an item before pushing it to live they have been breaking thier backs to jam as much into the game as possible before x-mas. Apologies only go so far when they constantly and consistently make the same mistake.
1. Not enough testing/time to test on test center.
2. Rampant denial at onset of how bad the situation really is.
As they repeatedly do this, I have to ask what is the point in apologizing? An apology only counts in my eyes if you learn from the mistake and do your best not to repeat it. Both of these bugs would have been caught on test center if they had not have pushed it to live so fast, but thier greed to get as many boxes sold off the store shelves for x-mas is screwing over thier current player base.

The point is, their actions do not reflect the fact that they are listening.
There is no "all" of us to pull together - we the players have made things abundantly clear, yet that means absolutely nothing if the Devs do not follow through.
Those things I mentioned, and at least a dozen off the top of my head that I won't mention - so you don't accuse me of "rubbing noses" in it - are prime examples of how they are NOT listening to us, even though TH and other Devs had read what we said.
The reason I posted was in response to TH talking about the Dev's view of the game, which I used to have faith in. Now, after six months of live play, I'm severely doubting that.
They seem entirely out of touch, and players like me who have tried so very hard to help this game just get ignored and slapped in the face.
And why does this needed to be pointed out?
BECAUSE THEY KEEP MAKING THE SAME MISTAKES OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
They don't seem to learn from them - perhaps if they DID get their "noses rubbed" in the mess, they will learn not to make the mess again.

Thats the problem Im trying to get balanced here.
also, PLEASE answer the sever city problems here.
For city drift with minimal impact, the change is on test and will be on live very soon. The fix for cloning centers in test for the publish. We wanted to hotfix too, but if we hotfixed to those game systems, there is a chance we would have made things worse, so hotfixing is not an option.
If there are extreme problems such as a missing city, dozens or hundreds of players drops, then please let me know here.
Thanks.

It´s kinda scary, the city is now what..3-4 weeks old. And there is 2 weeks or more to the fix. Means we can get to pass the 100m range moved. I just got told today my structure factory left the city, tho it´s 220m from the city hall. And the city is rank 3 with 300m radius.
Not 2 weeks. Much sooner. I dont have an exact day yet, but very soon.

Could you explain a bit about the cloning center disappearing bug? You're saying it's a separate issue but it seems very much related to the drift-issue to me, as our cloning center was placed on the border and we lost it. Still no answer on my ticket btw, I'd gladly replace it, I already built a new one, but I can't
.
Anyway:
Server: Gorath
Planet: Dantooine
City: Dragon Town
Issue: Lost Cloning ctr, can't replace it because I get an error message: "Only one structure of this type is allowed.." - we're also still being charged for it.
TH i think the shift might be even bigger.
Our city is Warren Vale on chimera/dant -123 -3333 and its only 3 days old. We have allready started to move about 4-5m from where we were.
Pls try for the hotfix this is gamebreaking and very bad for all those here who are posting and seeing their hard work going up the swanny.
Thnx

Okay, I just got home, so I couldn't post earlier. Tombra on Naboo, Scylla, official location -3179 -44,, has had its radius drift so badly that the city terminal is approximately 35m from the city border now. As it appears that it is terminal location that determines whether or not a building is in a city, we have to come to the conclusion, due to the cities that have already disappeared, that if the radius drifts past the terminal that we will lose our city completely.
I'm logging in now to get more information.

This should definitely be a priority. A few meters per day might not affect a city or metropolis much, but when you have an outpost or village, that isa fairly major swing in terms of overall coverage.
For my city, this issue isn't critical to the point of loosing buildings yet, but it is definitely happening and will bea major problem long term. We have had to adjust the layout of the city to compensate for this, so it is becoming fairly annoying.
Ah if you think that a few meters is not a big deal, my PA's city was lv 3 (we had 47 citizens with another 8 guys houses just outside the lv 3 radious) and went POOOF overnight, totaly gone, we should be lv 4 by now, but will our city be restored? or how about the millions that went into maintenace and resources to build it? I can only hope that the devs have a sence of fairness and put us back to where we should be. But anyone willing to bet that they will make us place a new city, and wait four more weeks to get to lv 4 again?

City Did Not Grow!
I'm reposting this notice our mayor posted on our city ezboard today:
Well, I logged in at 4pm est today, eager and ready to put down our shuttleport. I checked my emails to see election results and saw that I had 5800 poli xp, and there was the magic email saying our city was in fact now ranked as a city.
I went out to place the shuttleport and immediately got a message to the tune of "your town muct be at least rank 4 to place a shuttleport", so I went inside and checked the city management terminal and sure enough we are still listed as a township. Now Helfire and Valinor both have shuttles up and we are out until a mythical csr comes to respond to my ticket.
My greatest fear is that the city wasnt able to grow due to the no build zone they put in around the imperial outpost to the south, and our city boundary intersecting it. In this case the only way to remedy the situation would be to place a new city hall farther north, but that would cause us to lose all the time invested in growth already unless the csr actually gave a @#%$ and advanced us immediately to rank 4 (fat chance).
In any event I'm not going to be around much this weekend, I really feel no desire to login thanks to their latest screwup.
What's the chances we will see a fix on this, or are we screwed?
By the way, in case the no-build around the Imperial Outpost IS the reason, that no-build was added AFTER we placed our City Hall.
The city is Kimo, on Lok, Lowca server.

Okay, here's the info:
Original WP: -3179 -44
WP 48 hours ago: -3105 -0
Waypoint 5 minutes ago: -3096 -0
9 meter drift in 48 hours
41 meters to loss of city.
From what we can tell, the drift has been increasing over the past few days. This is judging from the times we absorbed new buildings that were not in the original radius, and losing others.

LOL. Quit bitching...you could be like 1000's of other people who don't have cities at all. I guess that's what you get for the being the test subjects. They will fix it as soon as they can...until then, think about everyone without a city....maybe it will calm you down some.
