Greetings,
This is a -fantastic- tool. Just one small thing, you have the Food/Chemical and Equipment factories backwards (the Food/Chem is the one with the little bit stickin' off on the top, the Equipment is octigonal).
Anyway, this keeps getting better! Today I added a few things..
First, I put tooltips on the graphics.. Well, really I put alt tags on them, but some browsers display these as tooltops. I'll be doing something more later.
I also changed the layout of the options, as well as added a color picker for setting the various colors. The file options (filename, format) are now in a seperate window you bring up by clicking "Save Map". When you use that, instead of viewing the map, your browser will ask you where to save it.
Finally, I've also added the ability to link directly to maps in the mapmaker. No more messing with that long string in the little box.. Now theres a handy button right next to it that says "Bookmark this map". Well, at least that's what it does on Internet Explorer. On other browsers, it just redirects you to a URL that you can bookmark. For example, map for the city I live in can be found here or a map I made for someone else.
I've also made the action on clicking a little less annoying. Now when you click a building in the canvas, it targets it. If you click the targetted building you will pick it up and move it. Dropping it over the toolbar will get rid of it. If you click and drag a building, targetted or not, it will move it. If you double-click, it will rotate the building right.
This is fantastic work. Finally I'll be able to map out my city in detail without it looking like an ugly scribble.
Any chance of adding bases, turrets, minefields, and covert detectors? Oh, and the other style of medium Corellian/generic ![]()
We're nestled between a mountain range and a river, so some sort of way of representing them would be particularly handy too.
Anyhows, it's pretty rocking!
A resounding success. Your hard work has paid off. I have had wonderful results with this tool and commend you on a job well done.
Thanks again.
Tiaga, this is a thoroughly outstanding piece of work, Thank you !
Tiaga,
What info do you need to get other things added.. Ie, Tat guild halls, etc...
Absolutely Brilliant!
This thread should be stuck to top of the Politician Forum.
Looks cool, but doesn't work for me. Every time I click on a building I get a Java runtime error. If I decrease security settings, I no longer get the error, but clicking the buildings does nothing. ![]()

Right now I'm getting no response from the server, but the 20 minutes I played with it were like a dream come true!! This should be turned into a Flash tool and put on the official site. ![]()
