Thread: Tiggs Says Lack of SW Trainers In Player Cities Is Intentional...

Exactly my point there is no purpose to even bother wasting the Devs time with this nonsense, it's a couple hours of grinding my god deal with it. You probably want instanced caves full of Nightsisters at your front door that die in one hit and drop uber loot. the reason things don't get done is because the devs and correspondents get bombarded with retarded statements like "We need trainers in player cities cause I use my speeder to travel 1000m to go train for the 4 hours it takes me to grind out shipwright".
This request is stupid the trainers are very easy to find and very abundant(for the person that chose to live on Lok that was kind of an expected consequence wasn't it, since there aren't many other trainers there either). This idea shouldn't even be entertained by the correspondents or devs, it's simply not worth the time. And Yes I did grind out Shipwright and oh my god it actually took me a couple minutes to travel to a trainer once every tree. If you want it easier so you don't have to travel use your imagination a little, clean out your droids and store your resources in there, you can then have room to easily carry all the resources required to grind out the entire profession and never have to leave the trainer for a second. This post is a complete waste of time and I hope that the devs/correspondents don't even bother reading it. Sure it would be nice have shipwright trainers outside your front door, but many things would be nice to have which are mostly pointless like this and frankly not worth the time to initiate. You would rather the devs spend their time programming in some stupid trainers that are only used about 6 times in 4 hours vs them spending time on something actually useful like the combat balance or fixing actual bugs that are in the game.

I think it's more the Principle of the matter. I'd just really like to know Why.
And for the record, I *do* have an alt who is a Shipwright. Yes, I know I can haul all my stuff somewhere else to grind. I can't effectively grind from my home/shop, since it's 3k to the nearest Shuttle, then from there to the MO (on Dant) then to Corellia. Pain in the butt.
Plus, Politicians just need some Luv!
That's exactly my point, who cares thatYOU can't "effectively" grind from your home. There isn't a single combat profession that can grind from home, and yes I understand that the other crafting professions can be but come on now, there are at least a hundred different things that the devs could be spending time on that would be ten times more important than you being able to craft from the comfort of your home. Never once did they say "hey and guess what with this new shipwright profession you can grind out master from your very own home in a matter of mere hours". I don't see why you EXPECT this to be the case. Obviously shipwright was not made to be ground out or it wouldn't require you to have 6mill units of resources in order to do it and only an xp cap of 300k.
The part that really throws me if is why/where/when/how did you come to expect that you should be enabled/"entitled' to grind this profession out without ever having to leave your home. It just baffles me that you actually expect this kind of gameplay.

So what is the reasoning behind this?
Roleplay it and the reasoning is simple to digest.
It would not be reasonable as a plotline to have a Shipwright trainer located in Podunk, Talus or Smallville, Lok. Why would they be there in your small city with no Starport? I consider us lucky that the trainers for the more technical trades were not removed from player cities as well because that would make the same sense. What is a Bio-Engineering trainer doing in a town with 20 residents located a thousand miles from anywhere important? And people want a Shipwright trainer? Besides, wouldn't you need a special facility to test your designs during your "studies" when training, like a starport? Small towns rarely have the facilities to experiment and test hi-tech innovation.
Now maybe if there was an Aerospace specialization for player cities.

Never really considered having a new Trainer in my Player City as an Entitlement for being a Shipwright. I'm not "Grinding" Shipwright in the "classic grind-to-jedi" sense...prolly a poor choise of words on my part.
Still, what becomes the need for Player Cities then, if your citizens cannot enjoy conveniences. Most towns levy taxes from which their citizens expect certain services. Just like the real-world. How is Shipwright really that much different from Architect (once you can make Gungan Heads)? Both basically just suck up tons of resources, give back a fraction of XP/per unit, etc. As a Mayor I can recruit an Architect Trainer.
Oh, and actually, I have gained most of my Xp on my combat Alt within probably 1500m of my City. Pull missions in town or hunt the masses of wild spawns.
Not sure where I was gong with this...ended up on a tangent...dam ADHD anyway...
Recruiting Trainers is something that Politicians get to do...one of the very few pathetic things we can do for the crapload of Skill points we waste and the months it takes to gain XP. Is it too much to ask for something new? (aka SW Trainer in town) I think not. Everyone is entitled to disagree with me, of course. that's what I love about my country ![]()
Ahh...but where better to Recruit a Shipwright Trainer. Surely that Trainer has had enough of the dog-eat-dog Megacorporation Life in the Big City. He's just looking to settle down in a nice, quiet farm town and work part time at the Local Community College

Indeed, an explanation would be nice.

My city is on Lok. Because of the Shipwright trainer issue, our resident Shipwright who is grinding through SW, needed to buy a new house, and place it near an NPC city on Naboo so that he could place his crafting station somewhere close to a trainer so he doesn't need to travel so far for training.
I completely understand why we can't have ship terminals, starports, and chassis dealers in player cities, but this really sucks about SW trainers. as others have said, this is just another thing to help drive people out of our cities.
