No - friendly succession (had someone with extra skill points initially train Politician. If we did not "win" the mad race to place City Hall, I didn't want to drop skills for nothing)
6. Is your city a "private" city, with restricted zoning permission, or public, open to all settlers? If private, is your city run primarily by one PA? Private city (zoning rights enabled). Not run by a single PA. We are a "City with Guilds" not a "Guild with a City"
7. Is your politician character considered to be your "main" character? Alternate on another server? Alternate on same server using second account? Yes. Main and only character.

How many hours per week do you spend playing strictly as a politician, placing structures, giving permission, travelling to train, communicating with citizens via chat or mail regarding city business? Hard to tell - it's interspersed with time I spend crafting. Probably at least 1 hour per day - sometimes up to 2-3 hours per day.
9. What was your primary profession prior to implementation of politician? Did you keep or drop that profession to become a politician? Heh - never had a primary - always been a Jack of All Trades. Dropped Doctor, Master Medic (only have Novice left) and Pistoleer to pursue Politican/Architect. [Currently Novice Medic/Master Artisan/Master Architect/Marksman (1/4/0/0)/Politician/Novice Merchant (0/0/0/3)]

No, and probably not going to. I have just aquired a new account because I also "had" to take up the lots for cantina and theater to keep the city alive.

Only 1 or 2 votes. We ellect our mayor out-game for a period of 3 months together with a 5 headed city council

Since the ingame "feature-foundation" ... there were 2 other mayors before me as our time of "only" setlement, but they quite the game

We have restricted zoning permission, but anybody who doesn't appear as total mainiac that wants to settle may ... zoning is on to prevent wild settling as we do want to keep our relative organized look.

It was my main, but considering I can't really "do" much with it (besides formal granting rights, changing taxes, managing the useless militia) I will switch to my "second" Account on the same server I just opend because the politician is to restricting for me (togeter with master musician and some merchant skills to be able to place tents)

I was weaponsmith/pistoleer/musician ... dropped weaponsmith and pistoleer to master musician and politician

We have been using Research Center before the multiple update bug hit us ... then we turned it off ... due to come back on in about 2 days ... hope anybody really feals an improvement

No, but I do not intend on taking any skills beyond 2/2/2/4

23, will be 26 in a couple of days.

No, but the citizens are more than welcome to run if they wish

Private city, roleplaying democracy. One week waiting period to determine if the player is a RP'er and not a complete jerk. Have not declined any player placing rights yet. Three PA's are in the city, currently I am a member of one until their 5th player gets back from vacation so he can join, and then I will be a member of none again.

1/2 hour weekly on Politician business that has anything to do with game mechanics, 20-30 hours weekly on non-skill related Mayor business

Dropped most Pikeman skills thinking I should master Politician in time, now have no intention of Mastering it because many of the boxes are useless.

Its like a second job. I get about 10 hours a week to perform other functions like maintain my Tailor business, move harvesters, and about once a week I explore a new planet to collect POI badges or hunt. I miss shooting Binarye Pirates...

Since foundation, we have been an unofficial city since the beginning of SWG.

Private, to avoid griefing and ugly city layout. The city is not PA-only.

This is my Main character, goal has always been to create a city.

Architect/Tailor - I was the only Master Architect for a while, so I had built a lot of the citystructures myself, eventually dropped it when it was no longer needed.

5. No, had to have someone place (I had to work) for me because of the way SOE implemented the first round of city limits. After the first week I took over.

--- not yet, but i intend to after master. fiscal 3,4, civic 3,4 & master.

--- private. the city was founded by two PAs. we currently maintain a separation of PA and city. we have no PA membership requirements for city residency. we are private mainly for city layout and playing style/personality.

--- yes, my politician is my main account, but politician is not my primary profession.

--- I'm the mayor full time and perform the duties as needed. it's interspersed with my other professions. i've delegated zoning rights so i can go off-world when i want. we usually have a city chat up for general communication.

--- brawler, smuggler, swordsman are my primary professions. I'll be dropping some skills from these to get to master politician, but i'll get them back after dropping the Poli mastery.

--- no, not interested. the cost is too much in comparison to the apparent benefits as documented within these forums.

Private... we have 3 PAs... 2 with recruiting permissions no questions asked... the third will have these powers when we know them better... all other applicants are weighed by the citizens...

Jack of all trades... i'm dropping Master Merchant and Master Artisan slowly to accomodate it...

No... we will use Job Market most likely... though I will be putting it to the citizens in a vote and we may rotate among the top few... i'm negotiating with other nearby cities to exchange specializations... its tricky but if it works, the crafters and fighters should both be happy...
