Any word on when/if the caps for shuttleports will be lifted? My city has the required population and then some, we even built a shuttleport in preparation for the advancement but it never came. We are on Naboo.

I think to leave this game

It's not possible this "censor" of game design, now we have 66 citizen (66!!!!), 55 from 3 weeks, work very hard for find people, offering house and bike to newbie(for travel in the nearest Shuttleport), and ONLY for a question of time, we are another time condamned to stay at rank 3.

The other city is not rank 4 now, its a 3, but they have now 55 citizen and his upgrade come 2 days before us. Soon a rank 4 city of your planet will change, 90% we cannot upgrade. Andso if in future, maybe 1 months, another city change planet, we are again NOT SURE we can make the upgrade..this can go forever, ONLY for the upgrade time.

It's ask for too much that the city in "wait" for upgrade follow the timeline of wait and not the UPGRADE time, wich is totally ridicolous?? Example:

City 1: Wait for the upgrade to rank 4 from 3 weeks, why the cap is reached and only 10 rank 4 are allowed.

City 2: IF THE TIME OF UPGRADE IS BEFORE CITY 1 in the same time (3 weeks)this city can be created and canreach easy the rank 3 and, whenthe city in ourplanetwith rank 4 are 9,then take the rank 4 BEFORE THE CITY 1!! This is really hard to call a good choice...and a kick to several hour of hard work. Good Job Devs...

Plz if you can tell me why this choice, maybe i can try to understand the reasons.

When i go to (real)bank ifollow the order of people waiting to pay, never see someone who say "Ehi, im born before you i have the right to pay before you.

And sorry for my english, someone know a board for make this more clear to devs? In live or what?

I agree the fact that the update times aren't the same for everybody is a problem. You could have placed a monday, me a friday. But slot opens on a thursday so I get it, not you, although you placed before me.

I'd say longest waiting city should upgrade.

That DOESN'T solve the problem where people keep their cities to lvl 4 and guys who didn't make it the first 15 mn of the player city patch will get screwed anyway. If you want to have a commercial city, a shuttleport is a must have, customers are lazy, and one master's goods are roughly equivalent to another's. Ease of access is the only selling point a merchant has now.

I can certainly understand everyones frustration at not being able to advance their city. We tried to start a city on Bria server on Tatooine. Couldn't place a city hall as planet cap had been reached. This opened up for about 4 hrs on Dec 24th. We came back later that day and planet city cap was again reached. After waiting for 2 wks It was obvious that we would never be able to place a city and even if we did it would never get past a lvl 3 city.

We saw the writing on the wall and went looking for prime spots to locate a city on Lok, Talus, Dantooine. After another 2 wks of searching for places to put down a city, it was decided to put a city on Dantooine. We placed our city near the imperial outpost on Danttoine. Four wks later we became a lvl 4 city and had a shuttle port, and now we are a manufacturing center. Now there are only 4 more cities that can advance to lvl 4 cities and have a shuttle before the planet cap of 20 lvl 4+ cities is reached. In retrospect, we made the right decision. Everybody wants to have a city on Tatooine or Naboo, but it just will not happen no matter how badly you want it to be.

Time is critical in placing a city and getting a lvl 4 city, as soon the planet cap will be reached on all planets on all servers. There is no easy or simple solution here. You just have to have a definate plan and timeframe in mind to get your city to lvl 4. If you hesitate or wait too long the city planet caps wil be reached, and that is just the reality of the situation.

So you think better change the faster possible planet? We want wait again 1 month, after this time we will change if our city dont upgrade. For the moment on chimeara server only tatooine has reached the cap for rank city 4 (maybe corellia).

Well our city on Naboo got hit by this as well. One of the level 4 cities left Naboo 2 hours after we had our chance to upgrade but got stopped by the cap. That's right ladies and gentleman 2 hours afterward. So we had to wait a week for our next chance. Problem was someone else's city was ready to advance and they had their chance to do so the several days after the fact, so we lost our level 4 city and shuttleport as a result of a 2 hour difference.

The city advancement and cap system has been screwed up from the get go. First time was a race to place a city hall with less than 12 hours advanced notice, during the timeframe that many were at work. The second time to place a city hall was the same, I did manage to get mine placed however. The upgrades occur on different days and certainly should not. Everyone should have the same date and time to upgrade, that way it can take into account real factors, like how long they have been capped, how many residents they have, what kind of traffic they get. It would be considerably more fair than the current way things are being done.

I would like to see the cap raised again as well. It seems like after the second run of raised caps, it just died out. Personally I think anyone that has a city should be able to upgrade to the top level if they qualify, not be stuck by some artificial cap, but that is just my opinion.

One idea that could help reduce the amount of database space being used by cities, and houses would be to let married people (in-game married of course) both declare residence in the same house. That way you get two residents in one house. It cuts back on the clutter, frees up space on both the map and the databases, and puts something tangible on the marriage aspect of the game as well.

"Which did you like better? 'Jedi' or "The Empire Strikes Back?"
"Jedi"
"Blasphemy!"
"'Empire' had the better ending. I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, find out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings. All 'Jedi' had was a bunch of Muppets."

What I just think is unfair is that after the first city release, those that were lucky to drop a town hall were basically the ones allowed a month to reach lvl 4 or to get citizens for it. Now comes 2nd release and they cap 4 at 10 which is basically the starting towns. So in essence the first to drop were given all the advantages and nothing was considered for those that worked or had a far location to get to.

I am just hoping with revised rules alot of the first 10 are ghost towns now and maybe will lose enuf for others to get a chance at a shuttle and that the cities will update by longest waiting.

You are assuming that this was not an intended situation. Say my city is dropped in level, due to a bug like the city limits moving off of the center... (SOUND FAMILIAR?) If our city lost a level because of something like that, and another city recieved that slot, the devs would NOT return the slot to my city, they would say, "I'm sorry, but we can not replace anything that was lost due to a bug." Meaning, I think it should remain the same, or change it to a NEW alternative which I feel is much more fair to the losing city, and the possible new gaining cities:

Give the city a week to return to the required residency, or they lose their rights to the slot. Once they lose their rights to the slot, the next city up, should be the one that reached that resident requirment first, regardless of when their update takes place.

For us it is extremely frustrating. We missed the initial city cap on naboo by a matter minutes. But managed to place on whenthe caps were extended. great. We placed the city hall and, within three days, had 60-70 citizens declared! but qwe still had to wait weeks for the city to advance up the levels. by the time we the level 4 cam about we had missed the cap and couldn't have a shutleport. We have a great city with imperial faction bases and terminals etc. but no-one comes our way because we dont have a shuttleport and are a massive (sarcasm) 2k from theed. it sux.

You are all assuming people were lucky when they dropped their cities and were the ones who got in under the cap. I gotta tell ya, we planned that morning/afternoon out for weeks. In fact, our mayor/master arch of the time had it planned out MONTHS in advance, "just in case" it was a race. And it turns out he was right. Our plan went without too much of a hitch (he missed the shuttle back to us after training as politician, so had to find alternate routes) and we got our city hall placed. And we were very proud of it, becuase we had raced and beaten out other players and the game.

Killing PvP isn't the only kind of competition....we were dedicated to the cause, planned it out and won. Why begrudge us?

The system itself could possibly be called unfair, but sometimes there are those who win and those who didn't. We just planned and were rewarded for it.

All that hard work wouldnt have met squat if another town dropped 1km from the capital and knocked you out. I didnt say the first ones to drop didnt deserve their or plan it but your still lucky to get it done, no matter what planning went in. I am curious how far away was your town from a NPC city?.

For example ours was 8.5km away from any shuttleport, with speedburst and gallops about 15- minutes, running 20 minutes. Soon as patch was up, within minutes we had a politician, a town hall ready, and a mount. It still didnt matter. People dropped a town close to the capitol, also all that got in are practically next door to NPC cities. Planning didnt help us one bit, our server was capped by time I got to our town, but to be on the safe side we let the server reset us backto the politician trainer and loseour TH deed just to see if we could do anything better the 2nd time.

You raced and won, by planning, but to be honest, we planned too, but their wasnt much need of it other than getting to town and dropping b4 another, in which case it boiled down to who caught the shuttles quickly, who was close to cities.

And I am not begrudging anyone anything, just dont think the ones left out didnt plan as well as the ones that got dropped. Luck and location played a big part in this, and basically how soon you logged in after patch..
