Thread: Mayors Are Helpless Against Law-Breaking Citizens

Not only would I like to be able to placea fine, but I would like some sort of city jail to be implemented. So if a player will not or cannot pay a fine they get sent to jail. This could also be fun if other could "break them out".
Somthing i think would be cool to implemt, would be to have warping to the imperial prison on Dath IE you have been arrested by the Empier. I remember how much of a pain it was walking there before vechicles.
They said that about /citywarn. That it'd be easy to control, just vote the mayor out of office if he doesn't keep the militia in line. If the mayor is corrupt, and there isn't another who would want to give up the skill points, then the player is effectively forced to leave the city. While this would be a cool amount of power to have as mayor, it would be (in my mind) considered griefing. I wish /cityban would come back though. Especially since you can now remove militia members whether they approve or not (before they had to go to the terminal to be removed).

To be mayor is sometimes real hard because you have not the possibility to punish a citizen who has break the laws. They can start making trouble against other citizens and they asked the mayor to do something against him, but as mayor you cannot do anything.
If you are a citizen, who lives in a town with a corrupt mayor you have no problem to leave the city and settle down somewhere else. And I see no reason why a citizen should live in a town with a corrupt mayor. If he stay there its his own fault.

More like a galaxy of Judge Dreads! .... "I am the law!"
To prevent griefing a couple of "stuff" needs to be implemented...
A. City hall CANNOT BE destroy via mayor... there is 3 ways to destroy a city hall..... 1. Ran out of money... it happen.. treasury is broke... city hall goes... 2. ran out of citizens.. less than 10.. poof.. 3. vote for destruction (a possibility) but need at least 75% vote.
B. Voting a mayor out and let the "opponent" with most vote wins... this may be hard, but may have to drop the "incumbant" vote and allow people to really take the time to vote. If no one votes the incum mayor stays.. this promote political.... say you have only 15 actives out of 30 citizens at the time.. you can get a new person in office this way.
C. resign-ability. A mayor should be allow to resign at anytime IF there is a opponent mayor running. If thereare more than one running, then the one with the most votes wins.
This way.. the citizens can keep the mayor in check and vice versa...
Optional D. if a mayor is voted out, then the militia is cleared out to prevent mayor's men ruining future play hehe...
/cityban was not removed........... but it has never been applicable to citizens of the city in question.......... this imo is a serious flaw
