you think if we yell a little louder someone will listen? For christs sake Please fix this non sense. I am spending valuable skill points to bear the burdon for my city and I dont like any of this griefing the devs are allowing and ignoring. Heres a post I started under similar circumstances, mine being more factional in nature, same BS tho

What rank city are you ? If your rank 2 or better, JACK up the property tax . try and bankrupt the homes. if you have active citizens, then give them a heads up. and reinburst them thru the city treasury.

fight fire with fire. sometimes you need to be a bigger **edit** then the guy that just screwed you over.

I think the point you may be missing here is the abilities that you are asking for could lead a "greifer" type mayor to cause serious harm.

Ok, I just won the election. Sweet! Now I'm tired of the game, bored, pissed off, whatever. Maybe my guild kicked me out. Maybe the guild had a huge falling out and everyone is pissed. Don't say it can't happen. It can.

Now.. how do I get back at these people? Hmm.. delete their houses? Evict them from the city? Move their houses somewhere else? Block access to their homes until they move it? Think of EVERY possible way someone with a grudge could use those tools that you say are essential.. then realize this is why they are not in the game.

Would you do this? Would I? No. But someone would. And that's why they don't have the capability.

OK i see exactly what you mean, but you realize that by taking the stance that you and the Devs have, you are making the game around the griefers...

This is my issue here::::

Why make the mayor of a city virtually useless other than to place streetlamps because the POSSIBILITY of the mayor griefing the city? Do you see why your mindset makes our profession useless? Why not add the abilty to evict, and citywarn people and then make the CSR's actually work if they are needed to resolve a problem with a mayor going nuts in his city? You are (and I am not flaming you) thinking about this backwards.

Master Rifleman are powerful, Master combat medics are powerful, Master Commandos are powerful, Master Fencers are powerful why are we any different? Why should we, ELECTED officials be subject to this kind of headache? Please, I beg you to answer this in a thoughtful manner and I will be quiet.

Perhaps make it so cityban physically moves them to the borders of your city? Poof! You've solved the /cityban greifing problem. The problem with a game like this is that if you give people the opportunity to grief.. especially on a grand scale like deleting houses.. then they WILL grief.

Would you like it if all of a sudden the mayor of the city decided they didn't want you living there, and evicted you? What if you were on vacation or out of town for a month? Then what happens? What if you're running for mayor against the incumbent, and they evict you and all your supporters? What kind of protection would you have against this kind of thing?

I understand where you are coming from, believe me. I want a way to keep people out of my city. I begged the devs at E3 to bring back some form of cityban. Come up with a way to remove people from the city, or remove houses from the city that can't be seriously abused. If you can do that, I will support it. Until then.. well.. I just don't think it's gonna happen. We all want to live in a world where people won't take advantange of and abuse their fellow players.. but we've all seen what happens when people are given the ability to make life miserable for other people in this game. Someone will take advantage of that ability. And when you're talking about something as significant as your house and all the items in it...

If you read the post I started last week (link above in one of my posts) I had an idea for making all the items of the house including the deed go into a special box that only the owner of the house can retrieve if/when they come back in game. Kinda make it a bazaar terminal in city hall that will store this persons items for as long as thier account is active, and only the owner can retrieve it...this way the house gets moved=happy mayor, and the owner of the house doesnt lose anything= happy ex-citizen.

I understand theres a lot of childeren who play this game and this could potentially be a tool for griefing, but as I have stated before, I dont like the idea of having to stop the city planning or work around people that are griefing me. just because there is a potential grief, hello..there IS a grief going on right now and we are powerless..I have several houses in my city that are just in the wrong place and are in the way now, but the maitenance is paid for like 6 months and I cant do a thingabout it...exept the tax thing, but i can only take 50k a day out of treasury to pay back the other 40+ citizens who actually cooperate, so I dont like that idea either.

This reminds me of a way the devs bypassed a bug with vendors some time ago ... they had to take out all items and give them back to the players ... placed them into one single bag that could take up infinite items ... they even had to fix these bags in a second patch, because since the inventory was full nobody could buy a ticket anymore and people stuck on an adventure planet couldn't shuttle home - so a free ticket function was included ... maybe one could use this feature again ...

Only the devs never used it after this one time for some reason ... and since devs said before the city patch they wouldn't even let the mayors move a house because they think that might be griefing the owners I don't think the devs will even begin to do something in the scale of deleting houses.

Hoping the developers add some tools or somesuch to limit the impact of such actions.

I hope you're taking the advice to jack up property tax. Bankrupt 'em.
